Sorry we had to dash right after Ally's barrel run but we had a previous engagement we had to get home to.(OK I did) So to those we did not get to say goodbye to we will do that now.
I also wanted to say that we had a blast this weekend starting with Friday night fellowship right on through Sunday.(Buck you are a heck of a tractor driver) SJRA has been a blessing to our family , teaching us the importance of competing while still taking time out to have fun, Lot's of fun! Although the quantity of kids are down the quality of kids have never been higher(you guys and girls are really going for it) and the addition of the two day rodeos have allowed us all to become closer as a group. I am also very happy that the adults will be shute doggin next rodeo because I need to redeem myself after my pathetic and somewhat embarrassing attempt at barrels and poles. (I will be practicing for next year) Ally did the best she could to try to make me feel good afterwards but it did not work once I watched the video back. So kids I give you a piece of advice....thank God and thank your parents for for giving you the gift of SJ.

See you in a month and Breely you are my official hat and horse getter during goats so make sure you are on time and next to me in March.

God Bless, thank you and be safe!

Great Rodeo gang! Thanks for all the help in the birdhouse and with Breely! Not having a babysitter on the weekends of SJ means we have to rely on you! Thanks to everyone who helped out, if you missed a dirty thank you kiss, she'll catch you next time!
The adult rodeo was a huge hit - over $700 for SJ and some pictures that you can't put a price on! I got quite a few except barrels and poles, since that is where I was entered. If you have not sent me an email and you want a picture send me an email and I will try to get them out to you. I have also gotten several pictures of our students, so if you need photos for ads, check with me and if I dont have one I will try to be sure and get one at the next rodeo.
I will be getting a newsletter out within a week or so! Promise to have a picture page! I hope everyone got a new appreciation for what your kids feel like as contestants and students got a new understanding for what the adults do to run your rodeo.
Start now on your gas raffle tickets and sponsorship.
Bless you and your families - Mrs. Tobitha

I agree ......you guys are riding hard and it shows with the fast times and continued improvement of the new riders......but what I also notice is the fellowship that goes on around and away from the arena which at the end of the day is the reason we are all members of this really cool organization. Parents and kids you should all be commended. Work hard in the arena and play hard outside.

Great rodeo in Nicholls, we had some record times this weekend! The barrel race was a hit, thanks to everyone who helped out! I plan on getting a newsletter out by the end of the week, but be thinking about several things.
1. Pray for Dr. Rick Erwin, Case's dad. He was hospitalized today during the rodeo and has an exstreamly low heartrate. Test are being run now. I will keep you posted!
2. Adult Rodeo, Sat. night in Lake City! Students you will run the rodeo, contact Mrs. Warsing to let her know where you would like to work, she will let you know where she has openings! $10/event - 50% paid back. This is not just for members parents so encourage anyone to come ENTER UP!
3. Everyone is going to the FINALS, directors voted to take all contestants who have attended enough rodeos to the finals! I will have fianls packets for you in Lake City!
Have a great week - and remember Mr. Tony's message this morning - keep the FAITH! and the most important thing you can practice is growing your relationship with our Heavenly Father!
Blessings to each of you, I'll be in touch.

Saturday Night at Nicholls we will be having a get together for everyone! Angela (Chase Horne's mom)came up with the great idea to have a Chilly (sorry, Chili) social, so come and enjoy Angela's famous ELK Chili and beef chili for those of you who don't walk on the wilder side! We are asking everyone to bring something to go along with this awesome dish. Some suggestions would be, sour cream/onions/crackers, corn bread, cheese, drinks, and so on...don't forget your favorite hot sauce!
We would like everyone to contact us with what you will be bringing so we can be sure to have enough for all! Please e-mail me, or call 352-486-2599 to put your item on the menu and get an approximate head count. Also, please spread the word to that everyone can participate!

The Roll-O-Roper is a fun and challenging activity for any roper. The roper throws a rope over the head of a "Calf" from the saddle of a life-sized mechanical horse. The roper kicks the "Horse" to release the "Calf". Great for beginning ropers! It also helps more advanced ropers fine tune their skills and rope their cattle faster. Email Chandon Henry at nodnrope@yahoo.com for pictures. Asking $450. Call for more information: 386-748-6830

R.D. is an all around rodeo horse. He runs consistent 1D/2D barrels, he has a 21 sec. pole pattern, does flags, will put his but in the dirt when you swing your leg over for goat tie and he will head, heal or break away! He has done all these things for me!! He will slow down for a beginner...and teach your child to rodeo. If you are looking for your 1st all around horse for you or your child, he can do all events and do them well! He has had a 6 year old boy rodeo him and a 12 year old beginner girl run him. He will slow down when you get in trouble or run as hard as he can if you can ride! If you have a child that is ready to step up and win this is the horse for you. I am selling him because my child is not into rodeo and he should be doing rodeo. My 12 year old who has only been riding 18 months ran him NBHA and in three months won $500 at local events. He has seen everything and done everything and broke to death. Watch him run barrels at www.triplelequine/luckybardigit.htm He loves truly loves to do different things. The more variety in his events the better he does. He has well cared for & must go to a great home...UTD on shots, dental and chiropractic care. No physical issues and always sound!!He gets the best of everything and appreciates it!! This horse is a winner!! Price:$6,250

Attention ALL goat tyers!!! I have asked Lynn Smith, 1998 National Collegiate Rodeo Association Goat Tying Champion and Central Wyoming College girls rodeo coach, to put on another one of her awesome clinics here at Stormy Gray Arena! This clinic will take place December 19th & 20th and would make a fantastic Christmas present.
I generally don't like to push anything but I have to say that Lynn will show you skills and drills that will ONLY improve upon what you already know. You will leave her clinic a more competitive goat tyer if you apply what you learn from her. Jessica Gray, for example, has only been tying goats for 3 years now. Kirsten McManus introduced her to goat tying and from there her love for the event grew! I picked up one of Lynn's videos and was so impressed that I immediately looked to see if she put on clinics. The nearest one was Martin, TN! Well off to Martin we went. It was an incredible clinic and money well spent! So many of us spend hundreds of dollars each rodeo weekend and in some rodeos...$70 an event. Why not use an awesome clinic like this to better your skills and be a sharper goat tyer! Please go visit her website at www.goattyer.com to sign up. I think she is still charging $250 a weekend. Also, please let me know if you can bring a goat. Thanks and I hope you can make it!

14 yr old bay AQHA gelding "Chump". Great junior rodeo horse, placed consistently in poles and barrels, saddle winner in 2007, multiple buckles. I'm moving up to high school rodeo. Very fun to be around, great personalty, very willing, very laid back but knows when it's time to work.

Also, 16 yr old POA mare. Used by beginner for poles and barrels, great for goat tying, used in parades, drill team and hunter jumper stuff. Great all around mare. 13.3 hands, super cute.

Hey everyone...I wanted to pass the word that I am selling my finished BARREL and POLE horse. She is a 15.1 hand liver chestnut mare. She is in her prime at 13 years old. I have owned her for seven years, and can answer any questions you may have. A youth rider will clean house on her. She is so consistent and solid. Point and kick style. If anyone knows someone who is looking, please call 386-547-8075 or email. A good home is a priority. She's a one of a kind horse! Asking $13,500.

Hey everyone! The first rodeo is almost here! I am hoping to put together some activities for the Saturday evenings of our 2 day rodeos. I have some ideas of my own (snack socials, balloon fights, a music party, or maybe a costume party) but would like some of yours. If you have something you think would be fun, let me know! Also, a reminder for the flag carrier...I have Brandon Callen, Tyler Thornton, Cody Sessions, Rachel Henderson, Carly Strickland, and Jacee Beth Thomas for the first rodeo! Please be at the arena early and ready to go! Thank you, Tierney

Hello everyone. Hope the association is doing well and ready for a new exciting year. Anna missed SJRA last year but had a good time doing GFYRA. She is now at Lowndes High School and doing competitive cheerleading which as you know takes alot of her time and can't do rodeo and cheerleading. She has two nice horses that would be great for the right people. Shady as many of you may remember is a great mare. She does barrels, poles, and ropes!!! Maria her pony is also nice!! If you are interested and would like to contact me, please call us at 229-292-1628 or 220-794-1006.

Just a reminder you can email me your entries at any time prior to the call in! This should be a relief to those who are "e-mail friendly" so you don't listen to a busy signal and keep having to get throught the night of call in.
Send in students Name, Age, Event(s) parent/guardian contact name and number.
If you get a return email from me - you are good to go!
