Subject: Now THAT is a cute and funny idea! - recreating the childhood photo! I only wish ... one of my 5 sibs is gone already.

Your photo pose reminds me of our childhood photo - must've been a standard in the early 60's - our baby sister (prob about 18 months at the time) was being held by the oldest and we lined up in age down from there. It was my dad's (now long gone) favorite photo of us.

The nice memory (I apologize for hijacking this post with my walk down memory lane here - feel free to scroll on by) was that my mom had forgotten the photographer was coming over. (Anyone remember the days when the photographer came to the house? They threw a blanket over the coffee table or end table and you sat on that?) Anyway, it was summer and we were all playing outside in the neighborhood - we got called in for the photo. We rushed into our nice clothes - boys in collared shirts, girls in cotton dresses - lined up and they snapped the photo (black & white of course). It's a classic in our family. The oldest in braces (but handsome nonetheless - he's the one that has passed) and all of us with summer freckles and laughing and smiling - not your usual "smile for the camera" poses, but we all looked like we were having a good time, our summer play interrupted briefly for the photo. Never mind I looked totally dorky with short, wacky hair - the picture captured us, and the moment, beautifully. . . as we were, just kids on summer vacation having a good time
