but I agree that those who have experienced real depression know that watching a funny movie really will not help. Although it may be appropriate advise for someone who is just sort of in a "funk". I would advise counseling and possibly medication. When you are depressed, you tend to think that there's no way out...that is is how it will always be. Sometimes a boost from medication can re-awaken someone.
