Subject: Kitchen remodel

We're remodeling our kitchen, and I am THE WORST at making decisions and picking out cabinets, tile, etc.
We're thinking about white cabinets, and my husband wants to put in hardwood floors.
I like the look/feel of wood floors, but I'm afraid they're not practical for a kitchen. We've had the drip pan from the fridge flood and water spray out of the dishwasher several times, and I worry that wood is impractical. Also, I dread the thought of refinishing a flood due to the wear and tear in a kitchen (food spilled, pans dropped, chairs scratching the floor).
We considered the "wood look tile" as well.

If anyone can share their experience with wood vs. tile in the kitchen, I'd appreciate it.
