I do not know how anyone feels that it will help. I think it creates a self-fulfilling prophecy that America (and the whole world) is going to fall apart with a Trump presidency. It will not fall apart if we don't allow (or cause) it to. Some people are having such a seemingly over the top reaction because they think that Trump being elected means that a large percentage of Americans are racist and sexist. I think they are valid in their concerns regarding white supremacist activity and regarding some of Trump's careless and irresponsible comments. People have no idea what is to come and they are frightened. I don't want to diminish the validity of their concerns. I am concerned. But I don't think it's a fair perception that most of the people who voted for him are racist and/or sexist. And I am also a glass half full person. We will be okay if we decide that we are going to be okay and if we do our share to advocate for the freedom and protection of one another, no matter what "side" we are on.
