5cent Deposit Shine On The UK, Challenge 50 Cent
Pop Punk phenoms 5cent Deposit have firmed up their UK tour dates (see below), with their cd WE HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER to be released imminently by Deck Cheese records in the UK.
On a fictitious note, the band, purportedly upset that rapper 50 Cent is selling billions of records when he can't even play guitar, have issued a challenge to the multi-bulleted flavor of the year. "We'll drink him under the table, chew him up and spit him out - shit, we can rap better than he can play guitar." With records sales of 5cent Deposit's Radical debut WE HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER modestly behind 50 Cent's top-selling cd/dvd, the band has dedicated the rest of the year to catching up sales-wise. "We figure if we sell a couple hundred thousand copies a week in the next year, 50 Cent will be asking us to open up for him next year. Hey, he got shot 9 times, we can do 10 shots of tequila in 3 minutes flat. " Radical Records spokesman Johnny Chiba, fuming over 50 Cents hardcore rep, stated: "He's not so tough, I can take him with one hand behind my back... as long as that hand has a gun in it. " Talks of changing the band name to 50Cent Deposit in order to dupe potential fans into buying the disc have proved fruitless.
