  The Sequoia Lodge is one of the best finds we have ever made on the Internet. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. A General Store is conveniently located right across the street. Room 17, the one closest to the Kern, is highly recommended for your stay. At night, you can leave the windows open to fall asleep and then wake up to the sound of the river. We will definitely make a return visit to this Kernville gem.

  My husband and family stayed the weekend there. It was the best expedience ever!! The rooms were perfect. The whole place has such a good vibe and the staff was very helpful and so nice. You don't really have to go anywhere because everything is there for you (fishing, bbq, fridge, nice air conditioned room, nice bath rooms, beds are very cozy and comfortable; it's a home away from home). One thing that meant alot to us, was one night we were having dinner in one of the patio area and I just mentioning to my family I wish we had a centinella candle. The next morning on the patio table there was one. The staff left a centinella candle on the table we had our dinner and of course we enjoyed it very much. We are definitely coming back next year same time. Our family declared it our vacationing spot to stay when we come back. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

  Fishing the Kern for 25+ years and enjoying outdoor
  photography.....this hotel made it even better. The last
  unit facing the river is our favorite unit.
  Wonderful in early morning and late afternoons.
  cost a little more but worth it)Plus, the host are friendly and very nice.
  The rooms have the decor that is unusual for this area!
  Fantastic..beautiful, charming, very clean ..plus more adjectives!
  Money well spent. We get up their only once a year.

  Gwen, Juanita and I stayed several weekends at Sequoia Lodge. We cousins and sisters felt very safe and I recommend to all my single female friends that this is a very fun (trout fishing) and safe place to stay. Becky and Mark are wonderful hosts that keep the lodge very safe and clean. Mark even gave us a few tips on where to fish. We caught a stringer that day.

  My Dad Ron and I stayed at the Sequoia Lodge the weekend after Labor Day 2008. Mark made us feel right at home, the rooms and facilities were clean, store right across the street, private fishing access....absolutely perfect. We limited out Friday morning, brought trout home to LA and had a fish fry with the family. Good times, we will be back. P.S. Good food at Paprikas in Kernville.

  This last weekend ( 8/8-9/08) was my first time at the lodge. I took my two grandsons (9 and 15) up for a pre-start-of-school outing. It was rather warm outside, and the air conditioner had to work extra hard to keep us cool. Other than that, we had a good time at lake Isabella, and touring the area. We live only 80 miles away out on the Mojave Desert, but I get up that way often for work. We saved money by eating in our room. The microwave, refrigerator, and plates came in mighty handy. Very nice room! Very neat and clean grounds. We'll be back again.

  The Sequoia is one of many lodges we have visited on the Kern River over the last few years, and will now be where we stay! What a lovely lodge! Becky was amazing and we were overwhelmed by her hospitality-THANK YOU BECKY! Not to mention the rooms, as well as the grounds, are super clean. The Sequoia offers rooms at a great rates so that was a plus for us. We have shared our experience with several friends and they are on their way!

  I was at Sequoia Lodge this past weekend and found out that Brenda & Al are leaving for VA. Best of luck to the both of them, but they sure are going to missed!! They have made the Lodge just like a second home to all of us fishermen. I can't begin to express the gratitude that we have all felt for Brenda over the years.   I have stayed at the Sequoia Lodge for the past three years. Last year, two of my brothers from out of state joined me for a long-awaited fishing trip. Boy, did we have fun!! They have already committed to coming back this year and repeating the fun we had last year. Alan and Brenda are the best -- very hospitable, friendly, and caring hosts!!   My whole family goes to the Lodge every year. We have such a great time. The Lodge is perfect for the kids and adults. The rooms are adorable! Sometimes we go rafting, and we always go fishing!!

  This was our second stay at the lodge for the year and was as comfortable and peaceful as ever. Everyone was more than will willing to help and to make our stay as comfortable as they could. The lodge is wonderfully positioned on the river in either direction, up or down the river. Fishing was damped this trip, but that was due to DFG. Everything else was a hit.
