Subject: Shelling for the first time in Sanibel

Heading to Sanibel at the end of August. Can anyone advise us about the shelling this time of year? Called the museum but not much help. We're bringing our 12 yr. old who doesn't believe we can find shells in the way the websites say we can. Also looking for great places to eat, any suggestions? Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
