Yes, I was quite surprised when I heard a tropical "depression" had suddenly formed near the Bahamas and was organizing and possibly heading toward the Fla. coast. We had reservations to go to Sanibel last August which had to be cancelled due to Hurricane Charley. We were able to change our plans and headed to Siesta Key instead which turned out to be fine. The last time we were in Sanibel in 1996 we were told that a major hurricane hits every 75 years or so and the previous one had been around 1930. That prediction was eerily accurate. We figured that we'd be "safe" this time around, and now another tropical storm is heading there, but at least not in the same direction as this one will most likely hit the East coast then come across the state. We're supposed to fly out from Boston Friday morning, so we'll just have to keep checking and see what develops.

If any of you are down there now, perhaps you can post here and keep us updated? That would be greatly appreciated.
