I am not much help but here's my 2cents. We have only stayed at Forty Fiteen and Mitchells Sandcastles. Both on W. Gulf. I love that area for the shelling. Forty fifteen does not allow dogs. The closer to the water in the resorts, the more they are, like at 4015, a cottage back only 50 feet may be $200-$300 less a week. They are clean, not fancy. No one bothers you. You can take the bikes out. They have a nice pool and coin laundry. A little dated, but homey and roomy.

Mitchells are very small (at least the ones I have seen), mostly updated very nice. Dogs allowed. A very nice pool. Again, coin laundry and bikes. NO TELEPHONE
Mitchells and Forty Fifteen are right next to each other, both owned now by a Dr.

Not much around them, nothing commercial, a 5 minute car ride to Baileys.

I have seen inside Point Santo and it was drop dead absolutely beautiful. Tootie that is frequently on the other board...she rented from an owner, very reasonable and GEORGOUS!! I was soo jealous. She loved it so much, she stayed an extra week, had to switch condos, and loved it also! She did very well shelling there.

So if I were you I would be checking for rent by owners too. Sometimes they are less, and just a nice or nicer. Once in a while I see something on ebay, so give that a shot. Send me your e mail and if I see something, or once in a while get something in e mail, I will forward to you.
