We've only been there once...we stayed at Ocean's Reach. We only needed a one bedroom and those are few and far between. We checked on the "rent from owner" section of the chamber of commerce website and found a one-bedroom at Ocean's Reach that was very reasonably priced. In fact, the owner even knocked more off the price because there was a little construction going on in the next building (we never heard any noise from it at all.) It was clean but not luxurious. Ocean's Reach is very close to the beach and all condos face the water. I think they all have their own washer and dryer which we thought was a very nice feature. It was centrally located and the shells we found right outside the complex were unbelievable.
In walking up and down the beach and looking at other complexes, a place I would really like to try sometime is Sanibel Cottages. They don't look like cottages at all. They look like really nice condos. There was a thread on this board quite awhile back from someone that had stayed there and said they were great. Hopefully when we get to go again money won't be such a big issue and we can splurge a little! For the money we paid, Ocean's Reach was a bargain.
I will be looking forward to seeing many other reviews of places to stay. Great question, Tink!
