Sounds like you were on Turner Beach, on the east side of the jetty - right near the Blind Pass bridge? I had a similar experience there my last trip. You're either getting smacked in the butt by a wave, or else knocked flat on your butt! Either way, there is much torture for the butt involved at that spot. You can find some nice stuff there, but it's work!
