Hat’s off to Wayne, I just heard from Michael Browning and in a conversation with Wayne, Wayne informed him that the muffler rule would be enforced. While they kicked around the idea of not enforcing it this weekend they have decided the rules are the rules. Though it would have been to Wayne’s benefit to have allowed guys in there without mufflers to improve car count and draw it wouldn’t have been fair to his regular competitors to change the rules at the last race of the year. While I personally don’t like the muffler rule I admire them for holding fast to their rules and not changing for the last big race of the year. Now for the future perhaps next year, regarding the Outlaw class and considering the number of times they run them throughout the year, maybe the muffler rule can be looked at and this would improve car count and draw without requiring any mid season or late season rule changes.
