I played a small role in BONFIRE OF THE VANITIES. And with regards to your comments in relation to the movie, and I quote [" I personally like it, but it would seem that I am in the minority of those who do.
Unfortunately the screencaptures are from one of those typically less-than-magnificent grainy, blurry Warner Bros. DVD prints. "] I have to say on point a) I was disappointed with the bad press the film got at the time in 1990 but I understood why it flopped; the behind-the-scenes goings-on contributed to its demise - may I direct your attention to the documentary book on the making of the picture in "The Devil's Candy: Bonfire of the Vanities Goes to Hollywood" by Julie Salamon... if you liked the movie then I recommend this for you. On your second point, I have to agree with you again with regards to the poor quality treatment the movie has on DVD, and as you accurately indicate the picture sharpness is at best only slightly better than VHS. Thankyou again for sharing your wonderful concept with the world, keep up the good work. :)
