I didn't say I tried to find reasons to spank them. I make the rules so they don't ever just cruise along without thinking about them. I want them to be worried about breaking little rules so they don't have a chance think about breaking big ones.
Some kids are just better behaved than others and they don't need it much. To me typical girls should get spanked a few times a year just so they have a sense of what the limits are.
If you just spank for "deliberate and willful disobedience" then you just encourage your daughters to be sneaky. Do you get what I mean? If the disobedience has to be in your face, YEAH I DID IT WHAT YOU GON DO, they are too out of control to spank already. Otherwise what you are telling them is as long as you pretend you didn't KNOW or you FORGOT or you didn't UNDERSTAND that's cool and you won't get spanked. Nobody can prove what you were thinking so they just have to pretend it wasn't on purpose and they get an "get out of a licking" free card.
Kid's have a very good sense of what's fair. If you've been fair and consistent with them that's what matters. Being cruel or trying to come up with reasons to spank them isn't fair and they'd know it. The one thing I'd have to question about myself is spanking them for "attitude" which I do. I got spanked for attitude and I'd have to say that sometimes I didn't think it was fair. Sometimes I do think a girl needs to get a licking because of a lot of little things about how she's been acting. I'd also say that a lot of the time I got whupped for attitude I deserved it.
