 Even one child suffering child abuse is too many. At one time in history it was perfectly acceptable to hit a servant and it wasn't illegal to hit a spouse with anything smaller than a man's thumb. Now someone would go to jail for assault if they hit their maid or their wife, but hitting children is still by many seen as parent's right. I am not totally opposed to spanking, but this just doesn't seem right to me. There will always be study or statistics to back up whatever point of view a person may have.
