Overall Review:
Music was great. With the pageant not being on television they could play whatever music they wanted and it made it fun for the audience.
Stage was low key and not extravagant, but that's what you get when you're in a ballroom of a hotel.
Production Number was bad. Most of the girls forgot the moves. But they looked cute!
Judges were appropriate. I thought that the judges were well rounded and could truly pick a good pageant winner.
Shelley was a good host, she was funny. The guy was okay, whoever he was.
Top 15:
LA - Expected.
SC - Expected.
OK - Expected.
FL - Expected.
AR - Expected.
NH - I have no clue where this girl came from.
CO - Expected.
NC - Expected.
AL - I didn't think she would make the cut based on her performance on stage. However, I met her after the pageant and she had an adorable personality.
PA - Not sure how this girl made it in either.
AZ - Expected.
ID - Expected.
MA - Expected.
CA - I didn't predict this one, but she definitely had the teen appeal.
VA - I also didn't expect this one, but I wasn't surprised by it either.
If I were to make changes, I would take out PA, NH, VA, CA and replace them with, AK, KY, NY, and UT.
They did not do a swimsuit parade, which I thought was appropriate for a TEEN pageant. However, they did do an evening gown parade, and it was great.
Top 5: I wasn't surprised by any of the Top 5, however, I wished that AZ would have been up there too.
Final Questions:
LA: What would your friends say they like best about you?
Answer: My friends would say I'm hilarious. I think all my friends love me and they would say I'm really hilarious.
SC: If you could sit down with the 2 presidential candidates and talk to them about an issue facing teens, what would you talk about and how would you help them?
Answer: I would talk about gas prices and lowering them. I'm a teenager and I drive all over the state for my appearances and it's really expensive. I think that it affects teens because they drive a lot too. I'm not sure how I would fix the problem, but I would do whatever I could to help.
AR: (Yeah, so I'm pregnant and I have NO freakin' clue what her question was at the moment, if I remember I'll post it. Pregnancy does something to a person)
ID: What are three possessions that you could not live without?
Answer: My family, because I love them. My passion and drive because I think it makes me who I am. And a toothbrush because you always want to make a good impression.
NC: If you could have more time in a day what would you do?
Answer: I would spend more time with my family. (something to that effect)
I would have ranked it: LA 4th, NC 3rd, AK 2nd, ID 1st, SC winner
Actual rankings: ID 4th, LA 3rd, NC 2nd, SC 1st, AK winner
I still would have placed ID higher, but I'm happy with the results.
Photogenic: New York (sure whatever, I'm not even sure how this was judged)
Congeniality: Mississippi (well deserved)
I think Stevi will do a great job as Miss Teen USA. She seems very genuine and her director said that she is a very sweet girl.

- Would like to see the Arkansas question. (NT) -- ?, 08:59:58 08/18/08 Mon
- WHEN??? Are women in pageants going to learn that their famalies ARE NOT Possessions??? (NT) -- I Just Do Not Get It!, 09:25:31 08/18/08 Mon
- In looking at all the pics, the 2 that really stood out for me in the end were NY and ID. I was also impressed with the answers by the finalists and can see now why SC placed as high as she did. As for the future, I am going to hold out hope that the Olympic coverage on NBC was a major reason for the pageant being relegated to a ballroom basement in the Bahamas - I believe the prize package did not change from previous years and the fact MUO actually chose judges involved in the business gives me hope for the future..... - Not to be too harsh, but I'm not sure I'm thrilled with SC's answer. I realize gas prices are a huge deal, but I think there are many other issues that impact teens and maybe in a more signifcant way. (like the War in Iraq, terrorism in general, health insurance, housing, taxes). Anyway, I think she's gorgeous and was slammin' in that SS. Just thought that was a "gimme" question that she should have had an answer prepared for. (NT) -- Lifelong Fan, 22:06:23 08/18/08 Mon
- Just remebered part of Arkansas' question and answer. Q. When did you make a difference in someone's life and what did you do? A. I was a friend to someone who needed a friend. I didn't judge them just listened. (NT) -- Something like that., 09:47:16 08/20/08 Wed
