Maybe vampires need very little "human" blood to survive... that's why they can still have lost blood to their "sire" vampire and still survive on what blood is left when they are turned... to me it seems that biting someone and drinking theire blood seems like a really inefficient way of getting blood out of someone... there will always be some blood left in that person's body left over
