Yes!!! Even though it has been an amazingly long time since we've had one, there is a brand new writing contest in full swing as you read this!

The topic? Completing the story starters that were recently posted on the "GFD: Blood Bank"!

On the archive, there were four individual stories that took place in the "Gone From Daylight" world of vampires:


"The Awakening"
(A young vampire is stuck in a sanctuary as the love of his life, and his very first crossover, begins to go terribly wrong)

"Disposal Of Flesh"
(A veteran cop is introduced to his new job of being a Slaghunter in the city streets, and exposed to the horror of his new duties)

"Honor Among Thieves"
(A team of highly efficient raiders has been offered the task of stealing a mysterious artifact from one of the oldest living vampires in the area)

"Renegade Dawn"
(Vampires from all different walks of life have been unwillingly dragged to a private island, where they are being hunted for sport)


Each one of these stories has been given a beginning, setting the stage for possible events to come. It is up to YOU to tell us how the story is going to end! There's no guessing needed, no right or wrong answers! However you see the events unfolding before the story is told...is up to your imagination! It's all in your hands now! How many different endings can we find?

All submissions are welcome, and will be displayed proudly on the archive for everyone to read whenever they drop by! You only need to choose one story to write an ending for, but if you want to do MORE than one...feel free! It'll just be another chance for you to win! Go wild and do all FOUR if you feel up to it! You'll only be improving your odds!

The contest is officially starting as soon as you read this message! The deadline for all entries is Saturday, May 12th! So you guys have two whole MONTHS to plan, write, edit, and post however many stories you want! Simply submit your finished work to submissions@shackoutback.net, and it will be posted in the "Raider's Market" along with the others.

(NOTE: Submissions may be made and posted at ANY time between now and the deadline! So if you finish early and wanna get a jump on the competition, go ahead and post it! We'll be more than happy to put it up there for ya!)

So go ahead, take a chance! I personally HATE most of my own writing! So if I can be somewhat entertaining with my beginnings, I'm sure you guys can do even better with your endings! :)

Voting begins on the 13th of May for a period of two weeks! There will be one grand prize winner, and one runner up! So make sure you guys read all the entries and choose your favorite!

- The runner up will win a chance to have a two week exclusive to view the original story ending to the starter of his choice! (You didn't think Comsie was gonna just LEAVE the stories like that, did ya? Hehehe!) So one of the special endings that I have written will be open to you, and you ALONE, before anyone else gets to read it!

- The GRAND prize winner, however, will not only get to have a two week preview of the story ending of his choice...but they will also be granted a special two week exclusive sneak preview of the brand NEW story, "GFD: Psychosis"!!! And trust me...if you thought that "GFD: Nightfall" was dark...you have a loooong way to go before you're ready for "GFD: Psychosis"!

So there you have it! A brand new contest, with brand new prizes, to expose us all to brand new talent! Take a chance and show us what you've got! You never know...I MIGHT just give you guys a little something special JUST for submitting an entry into the contest!
