i am moving to darwin soon and i was just curious to know if there is an qualified irish dancing school that does the exam work, because i currently live in victoria and would like to continue with the exam work to perfect my technique.

hey curious .. we are a small and new school but have been dancing ten years or more. There are only two schools in the whole state - mine which is new and 'progressive' and the other one that is very traditional and does not ever want to do any competition - mostly ceili stuff. Due to our remoteness we can't travel to feis so no-one here is TCRG - well not yet. Is your move from Victoria to Darwin related to a miltary posting? Feel free to email me if you want more info. -- Lee in Darwin, Sun, Mar 04 2007, 14:51:11 [1]
Being a teacher and dancer at Lee's school, and having started out dancing with a former national champ who is now a registered teacher in WA and having also taken classes with a registered teacher in the ACT, I can say your best bet when you move to Darwin is to come along to a class and see what you think...whilst we are not a registered school YET we are definitely working towards that and we certainly aim for a high level of quality in all our dancers (I am well known for cracking my whip haha).
With the more advanced dancers in the school, Lee is really good about helping us to challenge ourselves and each other constantly and as a teacher I am particularly concerned with perfecting technique.
Keltikka is a great school - it would definitely be worth checking it out when you get here.
