Please tell me what types of pictures you look for in a "good" portfolio and what do you like to see in headshots?

I like to see a good variety in a portfolio. Some shots with pouty face, some with big smile, some with serious expression, some in color, some in b/w, some w/ hair up, some w/ hair down. some head shots, some themed or port shots. In a head shot, I like it to look like the child and for the clarity to be nice and clear. Above all, somethign that can kind of reflect the child's personality! Do you like to see alot of digitally enhanced phots or more natural setting types?

If you are doing glitz pageants you really need digitally enhanced photos simply because that is what wins. I personally don't like them to look too enhanced. For natural pageants, you can use a local photographer or even Sears since they need to be unenhanced..those are for headshots. For ports, you don't need digital unless they are putting in some special effect. Be creative, use different settings, Outdoor shots are great. -- Judge's opinion., 21:49:24 02/14/07 Wed [1]

i think if you do want to do an enhanced port, it should be just one, not a whole book. port shots are supposed to show the judges all sidesand personalities of your child. The enhanced ports only show the work of a graphic designer. Most of the time, you can barely see the kids' faces. jmo. -- pageant mom, 11:53:20 02/15/07 Thu [1]
