This board was created for the civil pageant dicussion on the Miss Teen USA pageant and the delegates who competed in this system, both past and present. Civil discussion and constructive criticism is welcome, but negative, mean-spirited criticism, bashing, imappropiate posts, name-calling on people or the delegates and making downright mean and nasty remarks will not be tolerated in this forum, and if continued will be grounds for banishment.

Indiana! Loved her. (NT) -- J., 19:18:13 04/23/09 Thu eww! she walked around all weekend like she was gods gift to this earth and her hair was too flat! she needs to get some volume and come down to earth. georgia tennessee michigan and california were the standouts (NT) -- Almost Famous, 22:10:37 04/23/09 Thu I loved her and her hair. She looked amazing all weekend. I never saw her walking around like that, she was actually one of the friendliest ones there, that actually talked to you, not down at you. Plus, she must of made quite an impression on some, because I overheard them talking about IN, saying they wanted to contact her to do some modeling for them. Too bad MI, CA, and NV didn't feel the need to get introduced at the expo, even thought they were there walking around. Kinda tacky. The ones that had there noses so far up in the air were SDakota, Wyoming, Tenn.,Minnesota and Georgia was very unapproachable. Alaska was also very rude. My favs after seeing them up close and talking to them are Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, and South Carolina. However, the top 5 will probably have CA in there, but I was really disappointed in seeing her in person. Same with MI. Almost wish I hadn't, because my favs changed completely. With tomorrow being Earth Day, we'd like to remind you to take time to do just one thing to help the environment. Here are ten things you can do to help:

Use Compact Fluorescent Bulbs - Replace 3 frequently used light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. Save 300 lbs. of carbon dioxide and $60 per year

Use Recycled Paper - Make sure your printer paper is 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Save 5 lbs. of carbon dioxide per ream of paper

Adjust Your Thermostat - Move your heater thermostat down two degrees in winter and up two degrees in the summer. Save 2000 lbs of carbon dioxide and $98 per year

Take Shorter Showers - Showers account for 2/3 of all water heating costs. Cutting five minutes from your daily shower will save up to 9,000 gallons of water a year and 350 lbs. of carbon dioxide

Plant a Tree - Trees suck up carbon dioxide and make clean air for us to breath. Save 2,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide per year

Unplug Un-used Electronics - Even when electronic devices are turned off, they use energy. Save over 1,000 lbs of carbon dioxide and $256 per year

Bring Cloth Bags to the Market - Using your own cloth bag instead of plastic or paper bags reduces waste and requires no additional energy

Replace Old Appliances - Inefficient appliances waste energy. Save hundreds of lbs. of carbon dioxide and $40 per year

Insulate your Water Heater - Keep your water heater insulated could save 1,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide and $40 per year

Recycle - If you recycle a six-pack of aluminum cans every week, you will save enough energy to power a television for 936 hours.

Our friends at the Hollywood Parks Department hosted its annual Spring Marshmallow Drop this past Saturday. Several of our local titleholders and those from as far away as Tamp joined us for the fun. This year we returned to the beautifully renovated Boulevard Heights Community Center in west Hollywood.

The free family event featured 30,000 marshmallows dropped from a helicopter for children ages 612 to gather in their baskets and trade for prizes. For ages 35, there was an Easter egg hunt. Families came early to enjoy a puppet show along with games, a bounce house, dance, baton and karate demonstrations. Of course the star of the day besides our titleholders was of course the Easter Bunny!

The Road to Hollywood continued the 2009 Tour of Florida with the third annual Miss Alachua/Marion County USA Pageant. Under the direction of Chelsee Atkins and her Chelsee Productions team it was quite the Saturday afternoon of pageantry as the three invites to state were at stake. The Oak Hall Theater hosted the seven Miss Alachua/Marion County USA and three Miss Alachua/Marion County Teen USA delegates.

Fadil Berisha will be in town! Fabulous photographer and well known throughout the pageant industry. For current MUO state titleholders, this shoot will take place in time to meet the deadline for the 2009 Miss USA Pageant. This is a great opportunity for anyone competing in any system, or that needs to update their headshots for modeling!

Fadil offers:

Three looks, hair & make up provided, all photos shot will be placed on one CD, plus at least six re-touched photos on a separate CD. Cost $1100.

He will be shooting in and around the Planet Hollywood property. If interested, please contact Maureen at tag@san.rr.com with a 50% deposit due upon appointment and 50% due by 1/20. Credit cards and checks accepted. Deadline for scheduling an appointment: 1/15

miss will do well, teen not so much (NT) -- many other beautiful teens like GA and NJ, 10:49:04 11/16/08 Sun wow...this surprises me with the teen. I like to see the top 5. She looks like she is about 5'2. I don't think,She will do well at teen based on her heigth. I know I will be beat up for saying that, but there were several pretty girls this year at teen who rocked on stage at teen usa but they were short.
