sa Maintenance and Operating Expenses (Rental, Utilities, Supplies

There's food for everybody 'ika nga!

PLEASE FORWARD TO AS MANY OF YOUR FRIENDS AND LET THE WHOLE COUNTRY
KNOW THAT ELECTION IS MORE OF PUTTING AMBITIOUS PEOPLE IN POSITION
WHO ARE GREEDY IN POWER, WEALTH & PRESTIGE THAN OF PUBLIC SERVICEc
ANG MASAKIT PA PERA NG BAYAN PARIN GAGAMITIN SA ELEKSYON MALUKLOK
LANG ANG MGA BUWAYA SA PWESTO

May 7 - Close to twenty-thousand Mexican men and women come out to Mexico City's main square to be photographed by renowned photographer Spencer Tunick.

The number breaks Tunick's last record of some seven-thousand people in Spain.

Wow, all the while I thought the LA Lakers will be swept by the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round of the NBA Playoffs! Imagine how surprised I am when they won game 3! As usual, Kobe Bryant carried much of the load by scoring 45 pts, but the deciding factor was how his teammates contributed. Kwame Brown scored 19 pts during the 3rd quarter dominating Amare Stoudemire during the period. Lamar Odom contributed 18 pts. Hopefully, they go all the way and win the series... but that thought, even coming from a Kobe fan, is very IMPROBABLE! Haha! I'll just enjoy it 'til it last! ;p

Love:

by Swami Vivekananda

"This was how I saw it: As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.

This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love ... They try to posses it, they demand, they expect ... And just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you. For love is meant to be free.

You can not change its nature.

If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.

Give and don't expect.

Advise, but don't order.

Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice.

It is the secret to true love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring."

Vote according to your conscience. In your hands lies the happiness of our people.

Countries With The Most Beautiful Women

1. Sweden
Of course Sweden lands at the number one spot. How could it not, it's Sweden for goodness sake! The women here are so ridiculously beautiful that it's hard to breathe sometimes when in their presence. Blond hair, & bright eyes, personalities that are beautiful to match, what more could anyone ever ask for?

2. Argentina
Argentina is definitely the cream of the crop as far as Latin America, well really as far as the whole Western Hemisphere goes. Argentineans, specifically those of Buenos Aires are a people made up mostly of Italian migrants from the 19th & early 20th century, but I must say that they must have been migrants from Milan all with super model genes, because the people here are stunning.

3. Russia
This list has pretty much read out as an Eastern European geography lesson, & with good reason. Slavic women are the most beautiful overall in the world, & Russia is the big leagues as far as Eastern Europe goes. The women here are not only beautiful, they're seductive. With one glance they can capture your heart, they look at you as if they know they could do anything in the world & you'd like it, & basically that's true.

4. Bulgaria
Bulgaria may as well change its name to "Beautyland" as it is a proverbial theme park of beautiful women. Everything from dark hair to light, & from bright eyes to well brighter eyes. Bulgaria is filled with amazing women all the way from the mountainous region of the capital Sofia to the beautiful beaches on the Black Sea coast.

5. Latvia
Where I sit as of the time I write this article. Latvia is just wondrous. This little Baltic nation, such a small country, with hardly no international fame or reputation, is home to some of the world's most beautiful girls hands down. Drop-dead beauties roam the streets, & they're friendly too, can't beat that now can you?

6. Belarus
It's often been said that Eastern Europe is the valley of beautiful women, & in that context Belarus is one of the more fertile spots. Sure the country may be drab, dreary, & socialist architecture reigns supreme, but the women are to die for. They manage to turn this country from extremely boring, to a place you never want to leave.

7. Ukraine
The Black Sea coast of the Ukraine is world famous for gorgeous girls in scantily clad bathing suits. And rightly so, but more so than that the entire country is filled to the brims with beautiful women. From Odessa to Kiev, the Ukraine beauty.

8. Estonia
Ahh & now the Eastern European countries come into play. Estonia is a very small country, & seemingly insignificant, but it's astonishing if only because of the girls. Beautiful they are, you can find some of the world's best looking women in any nightclub in Tallinn's Old Town, on any day of the week.

9. Netherlands
Dutch girls have to be some of the world's most amazing. Sure I'm only ranking the country as number nine, which is good when you take into account how many nations there are on this earth. But this list is only taking beauty into consideration, Dutch women have more than that, they're complete, they're incredible, they're the kind of girls who hang out drinking wine in the park with you randomly philosophizing, & they're also the kind of girls who will makeout with you in that same very park. (If they like you of course, this is not a poor country, it's about who you are, the girls here aren't impressed by status or anything like that.)

10. Denmark
I've been to Denmark many times, & I can say that I've not found anything rotten there to date. And definitely not the women, the women here are as striking as they come. A lot like their Swedish neighbours, the women of Denmark are remarkable in their beauty & their charm.

I certainly thought this was enlightening.

It's a big universe.

Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky.

It is more than 1000 light years away.

Yet amidst all this, God knows when each sparrow falls. He cares about our smallest problem, our biggest hurt, our every joy. But we need to see our lives and ourselves in perspective. WE aren't the center of the universe. God is. We don't own our next breath. God does. Humbling isn't it?

greatest quotes:
"I get so tired listening to one million dollars here, one million dollars there, it's so petty."

"People say I'm extravagant because I want to be surrounded by beauty. But tell me,
who wants to be surrounded by garbage?"

"I hate ugliness. You know,
I'm allergic to ugliness."
"Win or lose, we go shopping after the election."

"I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes,
I had one thousand and sixty."

Imelda Marcos was once the 'Steel Butterfly,' the beautiful wife and confidante of Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos. The Marcos regime (1965-86) was marked by corruption, political repression and gross financial shenanigans, acts to which Imelda was almost certainly privy. The Marcoses were finally deposed and fled to Hawaii, where Ferdinand died in 1989. Imelda Marcos later returned to the Philippines and, in spite of everything, was elected a legislative representative from her native district of Leyte. In October of 2001 she was arrested and charged with corruption and amassing wealth illegally during her husband's regime.

is it true that Mrs. Imelda Marcos was a former beauty queen?

People have forgotten allegations about Ping Lacson
By Ramon Tulfo
Inquirer
Last updated 06:48am (Mla time) 04/26/2007
MANILA, Philippines -- The influential Jesus Is Lord Movement of Bro. Eddie Villanueva is helping Sen. Panfilo Lacson get reelected.
How easy for people to forget the alleged atrocities Lacson did as a young officer of the defunct Philippine Constabulary and head of the armed group of the Presidential Anti-Crime Commission (PACC), also now defunct!
On Aug. 30, 2003, I came out with a special episode in my now defunct public service program, “Isumbong mo kay Tulfo,” on RPN 9 about Lacson.
My program featured a confession of Francisco “Kit” Mateo, allegedly a former henchman of Lacson, who exposed the crimes the senator supposedly committed while he was with the Metrocom Intelligence and Security Group (MISG) and at the PACC, primarily an antikidnapping task force.
Mateo was dying of cancer and wanted to make a clean breast of things, and so spilled the beans on his former boss. He died a few months after he made the taped confession.
Millions of people who watched the one-hour show devoted to Lacson’s alleged atrocities were aghast over the fate of an 8-year-old girl whom Lacson allegedly pushed out of a helicopter flying over Manila Bay.
Lacson’s alleged crimes were dramatized in the public service show that, at the time, enjoyed an unusually huge viewership for a government station.
The 8-year-old girl was a niece of a notorious kidnapper at the time, Joey de Leon. She and her aunt, De Leon’s sister, were taken into custody by Lacson’s men.
Lacson and his men, according to Mateo, tried to persuade the woman and the child to reveal De Leon’s whereabouts. They suffered a brutal fate when they refused, he added.
Other confessions that Mateo made in that tape lent to me by ABS-CBN involved the killings that the former henchman allegedly undertook on orders of Lacson.
In one scene, Mateo confessed to killing a young man reportedly on Lacson’s orders because the former was courting a girl who belonged to a wealthy family. The girl’s parents disapproved of the relationship and sought Lacson’s help in breaking it up.
In another scene, Mateo related how a former MISG detainee was run over by a cargo truck, also upon Lacson’s orders. Lacson later married the dead man’s wife, Mateo said.
I’ve been quiet about Lacson’s alleged crimes as related by his former henchman because I thought people would remember Mateo’s confession on national TV five years ago. But apparently, many have forgotten. Lacson enjoys high ratings in the surveys among senatorial candidates and is sure to be reelected.
This column just wants to show the “other side” of Panfilo Lacson based on the confession of his former trusted aide.
Would you still reelect this man to the Senate after what I have told you about him?

A stranger was seated next to a little girl ...

A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when he turned to her and said, "Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, "What would you like to talk about?"

Oh, I don't know", said the stranger. "How about nuclear power?"

"OK," she said. "That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat grass, the same stuff. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?"

The stranger thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea,"

To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know shit?"

DO NOT TEASE OLD LADIES

Defense Attorney:
Will you please state your age?

Little Old Lady:
I am 86 years old.

Defense Attorney:
Will you tell us, in your own words, what happened the
night of April 1st?

Little Old Lady:
There I was, sitting there in my swing on my front porch
on a warm spring evening, when a young man comes creeping
up on the porch and sat down beside me.

Defense Attorney:
Did you know him?

Little Old Lady:
No, but he sure was friendly.

Defense Attorney:
What happened after he sat down?

Little Old Lady:
He started to rub my thigh.

Defense Attorney:
Did you stop him?

Little Old Lady:
No, I didn't stop him.

Defense Attorney:
Why not?

Little Old Lady:
It felt good. Nobody had done that since my Albert
died some 30 years ago.

Defense Attorney:
What happened next?

Little Old Lady:
He began to rub my breasts.

Defense Attorney:
Did you stop him then?

Little Old Lady:
No, I did not stop him.

Defense Attorney:
Why not?

Little Old Lady:
His rubbing made me feel all alive and excited. I haven't
felt that good in years!

Defense Attorney:
What happened next?

Little Old Lady:
Well, by then, I was feeling so "spicy" that I just laid down
and told him "Take me, young man. Take me now!"

Defense Attorney:
"Did he take you?

"Little Old Lady:
Hell, no! He just yelled, "April Fool!" And that's when I shot
him, the little bastard!

See Men

An 85-year-old man went to his doctor's office to get
a sperm count. The doctor gave the man a jar and said,
"Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample
tomorrow."

The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the
doctor's office and gave him the jar, which was as
clean and empty as on the previous day. The doctor
asked what happened and the man explained: "Well, doc,
it's like this - First I tried with my right hand, but
nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still
nothing.

Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her
right hand, then her left, still nothing. She tried
with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her
teeth out, and still nothing. We even called up
Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first
with both hands, then an armpit and she even tried
squeezin' it between her knees, but still nothing."
The doctor was shocked! "You asked your neighbor?" The
old man replied,

"Yep. And no matter what we tried, we still couldn't
get the jar open."

Experts struggle to provide clear instructions on how to identify potential killers and stop them before they pick up a weapon.

Slowly, the details are trickling in.

Police say his name was Cho Seung-Hui, and he was 23. He was a senior and an English major at Virginia Tech. He lived in one of the dormitories there. He was from South Korea. We stare at his picture and see an ordinary-looking young man with glasses looking back.

At this point, we don't know what kind of person he was, or what made him so angry. We do know, from witnesses and authorities, that he was very calm and composed as he slaughtered his fellow students and Tech faculty members.

We will learn more about this young man who allegedly killed 32 people, then himself, Monday morning in Blacksburg, Va. And there will be much, much more that we will never know. There are some things, however, that we can learn from those who have devoted decades to studying the minds of mass killers.

"I've spent 25 years studying this topic and written five books about it," says James Alan Fox, a professor of criminal justice at Northeastern University in Boston. He says there are a handful of factors that are common in almost all mass murders. There are things that go on in the minds of these killers that are consistent—from Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris at Columbine, to Charles C. Roberts IV (who shot 11 young girls in an Amish school in Pennsylvania), to the young man named Charles Whitman who climbed a tower at the University of Texas at Austin more than four decades ago and open fire, killing 16 people.

"Typically you have someone who has a long history of frustration and failure, failure in school, failure in relationships. They have a diminished capacity to cope with disappointment," Fox says.
"Secondly, they are people who blame others for those failures, they externalize blame, they never see themselves as responsible, they see others who didn't give them the right opportunities, the right breaks, and they're angry, they're full of blame and resentment."

The conventional wisdom that these people are "loners" is accurate. "They lack support systems in their lives, they tend to be isolated … They don't have close friends and family who can help them get through the hard times," Fox said.

Robert R. Butterworth is a Los Angeles psychologist who runs International Trauma Associates. He works with violent criminals to provide answers and insight.

"A lot of times these people are somewhat aloof from people. They're very sensitive to slights," he says. Things that wouldn't bother most of us become torture to these would-be killers. As Butterworth explains: "A lot of times they come from families where there's been some violence. … They're not friendly, they're usually socially inept, they have problems a lot of times with females and sometimes they have a fascination with guns."

But another expert cautions that mass murderers don't always share similar biographies. "There is no commonality in terms of background: Neighborhood, parents, race, education, economic status," says Stanton Samenow, a clinical psychologist and the author of the book Inside the Criminal Mind. He has been studying killers since 1970.

But Samenow agrees that all of them have a view of the world in which being in control of others is critical to their self-image. "These men interpret any affront or adversity very personally. It threatens their very sense of who they are. They think in extremes. … They are constantly angry at a world that, from their perspective, does not give them what they are due."

Fox points to other personality factors. There is usually some kind of precipitating event that pushes the killer over the edge and, in his twisted thinking, gives him no reason to go on with life.
"They don't care about living anymore but of course they want to get some sense of vengeance. They see themselves as a victim."

And why was the Virginia Tech killer so calm as he went from room to room, shooting down students and professors? "These are people who know right from wrong. They also know the potential consequences to themselves if they are caught," Samenow says. "When they commit the crime, they are certain about their course of action. They are deliberate and purposeful. They may have planned the crime well in advance. At the time they commit the crime, they are calm—having shut off all fear."

Suicide seems often to be the last act of mass murderers. That final moment may be their last way of staying in control. "I have been told by more than one offender that he would rather 'go down in a blaze of glory' than surrender," Samenow adds.

The issue that most experts agree on is always intricately woven into the fabric of these killers' lives: "They have access to …. a gun sufficiently powerful to kill a large body count," Fox says. "The more people they kill, the greater the level of satisfaction they feel and derive from the crime."

America's mass murderers include a long list of primarily men—who are angry, thousands of people who feel slighted or unappreciated. What is different about these men like Cho who explode into a rage that turns murderous?

There are several theories. One is that our society has changed for the worse in the last century. "There has been an eclipse of community," Fox says. "People don't tend to have supportive friends and neighbors like they did in earlier years. Neighborhoods are not as tight-knit. … People move around the country … and obviously weapons have changed."

Butterworth agrees. "We're developing a narcissistic, angry culture that, when crossed, are prone to attack."

Where are the parents in all of this? Many of them, Butterworth says, are not paying attention to their children. "We're so busy working. … We don't sit down with our kids and talk to them, we don't watch TV with them. The kids are in their own little rooms playing with their computers, their own little MySpaces and parents have no idea what's going on. We're all growing up separately."

Beyond that, many young people without close support from family perceive their peers as the most important people in their lives.

But there is a larger point. Fox points to the meanness and cruelty that has become ubiquitous in our society: "We've become much more of a competitive society. We admire the winners and we pity the losers. We have no tolerance for them. We ridicule them and vote them off the island. And we laugh at them when they can't sing, just like on American Idol."

"We have a very open society. For most of us, that is a good thing," says Samenow. "For the person with a criminal mentality, he or she takes advantage of that freedom."

What can be done to prevent this from happening again? Butterworth urges young people who know someone who seems angry and potentially violent to say something. Talk to school officials, parents or other adults. The unspoken rule among kids that "one must not snitch" must be overcome.

But in the end, experts can't provide clear instructions on how to identify potential killers and stop them before they pick up a weapon.

"Psychologists aren't going to give you any answer," Butterworth says. "My point is until we do know we have to make it much more difficult for these people to do what they do." If there aren't as many guns around, he says, maybe these crazy people can't destroy as many lives.

Kinakabahan lang ako nung sinabing parang kulang sa amniotic fluid yung bata, na naka ingest ng erna(dumi) ang bata nung pinapanganak because of stress, and alam naman nating lahat na me effect din yung pagiging premature nung BABY, and ka birthday pa si ERAP. Nakakaloka ang tadhana.

Nakakatawa yung grammar and diction ni James, nung sinabi niya na nung sinusukat yung CONTRACT nung baby. Uhm, me pre-nup din ba ang bata? Hahahaha..

smeagol and Gollum

Who could forget the fictional character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings? Once a happy Stoorish Hobbit, Smeagol (a.k.a. Gollum) demanded the ring from his relative Deagol as a birthday present and he strangled him to death when he refused to give it. He was then forced to live in the far, far misty Mountains.

During the centuries that he spent in the Misty Mountains, he developed a certain kind of split personality – the good Smeagol and the bad Gollum. The good Smeagol remembered acts of goodness like friendship, trust, compassion and love. On the other hand, the bad Gollum was a desperate monster who would kill to have his most “precious” possession, which is the ring.

Come to think of it: everyone of us has a Smeagol and Gollum within. While we always strive to be good and value things that are good, within us are also crippling deeds of betrayal, envy and gluttony. But we could not deny the fact that we are first Smeagols, I should say, creatures created in the image and likeness of God. But we sinned and the Gollum inside us came out.

However, even with the character of Gollum, with all his dark side, it is undeniable that he has a spark of goodness inside him. Mister Frodo saw that. That is why, he never gave up on him.

I believe that no person is totally evil. I have never seen a person who did all wicked things throughout one’s life. One thing is sure, we are all sinners, but like Gollum, there is always a good side that cries out for liberation. And behold, God sees this spark of goodness in us…and He never gives us on us until we let this goodness shine through us.
smeagol and Gollum

Poor Gollum, when they were on the Mount of Doom to finally destroy the ring, he attacked Frodo and they had a big fight. He bit Frodo’s finger and his most precious possession was on his hands once again. He was too elated and too late for him to notice it, he lost his balance and fell into the fires of Mount Doom. Then, he made his last cry, “My Precious!”

While mercy abounds for us, our choices in life will have a great bearing on what is at stake for us in the future. Whatever we do in life echoes in eternity. Gollum was already confronted with the two choices – redeeming his original Smeagol self or slavery with the ring of darkness. He chose the latter and he spent his eternity in the fires of Mount Doom.

Think about it…. Your choices and decisions matter. God never gives up on you. Let your inner goodness shrine through!

Catholic Church buries limbo after centuries

By Philip PullellaFri Apr 20, 2:21 PM ET

The Roman Catholic Church has effectively buried the concept of limbo, the place where centuries of tradition and teaching held that babies who die without baptism went.

In a long-awaited document, the Church's International Theological Commission said limbo reflected an "unduly restrictive view of salvation."

The 41-page document was published on Friday by Origins, the documentary service of the U.S.-based Catholic News Service, which is part of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Pope Benedict, himself a top theologian who before his election in 2005 expressed doubts about limbo, authorized the publication of the document, called "The Hope of Salvation for Infants Who Die Without Being Baptised."

The verdict that limbo could now rest in peace had been expected for years. The document was seen as most likely the final word since limbo was never part of Church doctrine, even though it was taught to Catholics well into the 20th century.

"The conclusion of this study is that there are theological and liturgical reasons to hope that infants who die without baptism may be saved and brought into eternal happiness even if there is not an explicit teaching on this question found in revelation," it said.

"There are reasons to hope that God will save these infants precisely because it was not possible (to baptize them)."

The Church teaches that baptism removes original sin which stains all souls since the fall from grace in the Garden of Eden.

"NO NEGATION OF BAPTISM"

The document stressed that its conclusions should not be interpreted as questioning original sin or "used to negate the necessity of baptism or delay the conferral of the sacrament."

Limbo, which comes from the Latin word meaning "border" or "edge," was considered by medieval theologians to be a state or place reserved for the unbaptized dead, including good people who lived before the coming of Christ.

"People find it increasingly difficult to accept that God is just and merciful if he excludes infants, who have no personal sins, from eternal happiness, whether they are Christian or non-Christian," the document said.

It said the study was made all the more pressing because "the number of nonbaptised infants has grown considerably, and therefore the reflection on the possibility of salvation for these infants has become urgent."

The commission's conclusions had been widely expected.

In writings before his election as Pope in 2005, the then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger made it clear he believed the concept of limbo should be abandoned because it was "only a theological hypothesis" and "never a defined truth of faith."

In the Divine Comedy, Dante placed virtuous pagans and great classical philosophers, including Plato and Socrates, in limbo. The Catholic Church's official catechism, issued in 1992 after decades of work, dropped the mention of limbo.

My wife was pregnant for about 3 ½ months when she had a miscarriage last April 19, 2007; it was the longest day in our lives… It happened at around 2:30 am, I was awakened by my wife’s call, “Pa!, lumabas si baby.” I couldn’t believe what I’ve heard… maybe I am just dreaming… I hoped.

I rushed her in the nearby hospital. I waited at the hallway while she’s in the operating room; every minute seems to be endless…

Around 4:30 am, Her Doctor called me and gave my unborn child, I held my lifeless child in my arms, let him/her feel my embrace, my heartbeat, my love and all my pain. I told my child, “I love you, baby, sorry if we were not able to take good care of you.” I cried and turned to God and asked, “Can I still worship You after what had happened?’, and the answer is clear in my heart, and it is a “Yes”. Despite of what had happened, I’m still grateful, I’m still thankful and I still believe in God. I worshipped Him, Sing Him praises and composed a song for Him…

“Even if I am hurting inside,
Even if my heart is broken,
I want to worship You…

I waited for waited for another 2 hours for my wife, All I wanted that time is to see her that she’s okay. I saw in her eyes how sorry she was, I told her that it’s not her fault…

Words of comfort and sympathy poured through text messages, thanks to our loving friends in the community (Light of Jesus Community), it’s easier to bare the pain with them. We baptized our child (it was also baptized by a priest), we named him/her “Gab”, It could have been, Rwen Gabrielle (if Girl) or Rwin Gabriel (if boy), I used my tears to baptized Gab and told him/her how sorry we are for what had happened. We both prayed and thanked Him for crying with us and for embracing us in our moment of sorrow and grief.

Yesterday morning is a brand new day for me and my wife, a time to reflect and to move on and face the coming days, with tears, I sung…

Basta’t tayo’y magkasama,
Laging mayro’ng umagang kay ganda,
Bawat sikat ng araw, may dalang liwanag,
Ang ating pangarap, Haharapin natin.

She smiled… we embraced…

It happened with a purpose and we know that God have plans for us. In the Bible, Job lost everything but God returned it to him, sevenfold and I know that God will do the same to us.

Paglilingkod at trabaho

Julia Campbell

MANILA, April 18, 2007 - U.S. Peace Corps Director Ron Tschetter, along with the U.S. Embassy in Manila, is saddened to confirm the death of U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer Julia Campbell, who disappeared on April 8 while hiking in Banaue, Ifugao Province, Northern Luzon. Search parties discovered Ms. Campbell’s body near Barangay Batad, Banaue town this morning. Philippine authorities will make the final pronouncement of cause of death. Peace Corps Volunteer Julia Campbell

Director Tschetter, who is in the Philippines to consult with officials regarding the ongoing search for the missing volunteer, expressed his sorrow at learning the news. “Julia was a proud member of the Peace Corps family, and she contributed greatly to the lives of Filipino citizens in Donsol, Sorsogon, where she served,” he said. “The U.S. Peace Corps is saddened by the loss of such a dedicated and vibrant volunteer, who so loved this country. Our hearts go out to her family and friends in the United States.”

Ms. Campbell was reported missing on April 11 after failing to show up for several appointments. She was last seen on Sunday, April 8 in the Banaue area. She reportedly intended to hike in a hilly area near Batad, 1.5 kilometers east of Banaue town, and was unaccompanied.

Director Tschetter traveled to the Banaue area with U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Paul W. Jones on Tuesday, April 17 to meet with American and Filipino authorities involved in the search. The U.S. Peace Corps and U.S. Embassy would like to express their deep gratitude to the Filipino people for their assistance in the search.

“The search efforts organized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) were incredible,” said Chargé Jones. “Thank you to the PNP, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the local and provincial governments in the Banaue area, and the many local guides and volunteers who spent countless hours searching for Julia in difficult terrain. The American people are very thankful for your friendship during this difficult time.”

Director Tschetter and Chargé Jones met with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo this morning to thank her for the partnership and efforts of the Filipino people in searching for Ms. Campbell. President Arroyo along with Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alberto Romulo, Secretary of National Defense Hermogenes Ebdane, and PNP Director Oscar Calderon, committed their full support to the investigation.

Ms. Campbell served in ecological and educational projects in Southern Luzon since she began her Peace Corps service in the Philippines in March 2005.

There are 136 Peace Corps Volunteers serving in the country. More than 8,000 Volunteers have served in the Philippines since 1961, making it the second oldest Peace Corps program in the world.
_________________________________

The following statement is being released on behalf of the family of Julia Campbell:

Today, we learned the news that our Julia was found. We are so very grateful to the workers and searchers who worked diligently to look for and find our daughter, sister and friend. In addition to the Peace Corps, we would like to thank the Philippine National Police, the Philippine government and the people of the Philippines, especially those in Baranguay Batad, Banaue for the outpouring of support and assistance in the search.

The U.S. Peace Corps and our U.S. Embassy leadership, personnel and especially the Peace Corps volunteers in the Philippines have been of great comfort to our family during this difficult time. Director Ron Tschetter and his team exemplify the sense of community Julia loved about the Peace Corps; they have and continue to show great concern for Julia and our family.

During the past two years Julia has been on assignment in the Philippines, she served in various roles in the village of Donsol (province of Sorsogon) where she worked with the local school there to rebuild and stock the school library. Since childhood, Julia was an avid reader who enjoyed great literary works; “Sophie’s Choice” was one of her favorites. Many of her friends and family helped her in a campaign she created to provide age-appropriate reading materials to the library in a project she called "A Book and A Buck". Through her efforts, she collected more than 500 titles. Julia, a passionate yoga instructor and vegetarian, also worked with the local community to launch an ecology awareness campaign and instrumental in building an Eco Center in Donsol. Most recently, she served as a teacher at the Divine Word College in Legaspi city, where she taught English.

In her forty years, Julia lived a very full life. She loved her family and friends and is much loved. She was passionate in her journalism reporting especially the stories involving people who were able to stand and address adversity or adverse situations.

We have every confidence that the U.S. and Philippine authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into Julia’s untimely death.

This is the video of the Grand Prize Winner of the Sinulog 2006 Mardi Gras choreographed by RANDELL RUAYA and Co. of Surigao City, performed by the Fatima College of Camiguin.

This year’s winner,Sinulog 2007, Lumad Basakanon recieved 500,000 pesos cash. Best in Costume and Best in Street Dancing..

Camiguin’s 2007 entry, 2nd Place after Lumad Basakanon. From my youtube account, mamistahay. Certainly, its far second from Lumad Basakanon.

I wrote a while ago that Camiguin will become the team to beat because they would really hire a choreographer from Surigao City. This is my prediction because last year’s winning entry was trained under a Surigaonon choreographer. With his winning ways, I was betting that Camiguin would re hire him if they want to defend their crown.

But last night as soon as they started to perform, I immediately knew that they were hiring another choreographer. The steps were fast but without any coherence. Murag nanga kuryentihan.

Dear Fellow Filipino,
Good day to all of you! Before I begin my letter... just a disclaimer, for
people who know me they know that I love the Philippines very much and I am
not really one who rants and complaints to high heavens about what is
happening to our country and does nothing about it, in fact, I feel that at my
relatively young age of 27, I have done much service to the Philippines by
setting up Pathways to Higher Education which has sent more than 500 poor but
deserving students to college and AHON Foundation which has already built two
public elementary school libraries that have benefitted more than 3,500
students. Yet, after seeing how events in our nation have transpired the past
few weeks and talking with some friends, I feel the urge to share with you my
own thoughts and feelings.
Over the weekend, we saw the completion of two major political alliances for
this coming Senate Elections that has just began here in the Philippines. Now
we have two political forces with familiar faces nonetheless on opposite sides
of the fences. On one end, you have Tito Sotto and Tessie Aquino-Oreta who
were two major stalwarts of the opposition and the FPJ Campaign in 2004
hobnobbing with the woman (Pres. GMA) whom they claimed to have cheated FPJ in the last Presidential Elections. On the other side of the fence, you see Manny Villar, the former house speaker who was actually responsible for impeaching
Erap now part of the United Opposition who is led by no less than... Erap
himself. Now if you don't see anything wrong with this picture then you must
be one of the many Filipinos who have accepted this very sad reality that
there is indeed no permanent ideals that our government leaders stand up for
but rather they just go where there self-interests can best be served. It is
this kind of politics why I no longer wonder why good people like Ramon
Magsaysay Awardee Mayor Jesse Robredo of Naga City or outstanding Bulacan
Governor Josie Dela Cruz will find it hard or worse, never be elected to
national positions.
It is with these in mind that I'd like to share with you what are events this
coming May elections that will make me consider leaving the Philippines:
1.) If former COMELEC Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano of Hello Garci fame
wins in his bid to become Congressman of Bukidnon...seeking to replace a good
man no less in incumbent Cong. Neric Acosta... We would really be the laughing
stock of the whole world if we allow a man with the reputation of Garci to be
one of our so called "Honorable Gentlemen".
2.) If Dancing Queen Tessie Aquino Oreta reclaims her seat at the Senate... I
hope that all of us would still remember that dance that she did during the
2001 impeachment hearings after they voted to overrule the decision of then
Chief Justice Davide... let us make sure that people like her never make it to
the Senate again.
3.) If Richard Gomez becomes a senator... what does he know about making laws?
We already have the likes of Bong Revilla and Lito Lapid in the Senate and
their performance or lack of it would be reason enough not to elect another
actor who has no prior experience in government to the distinguished halls of
the Senate.
4.) If Gringo Honasan wins again.... have we not learned our lesson? I cannot
believe that just because someone is charismatic then we will just elect him
to become one of our senators despite the fact that he has time and again
caused so much instability in our country... if we want a military junta
similar to that of Thailand... then lets all vote for this guy....

5.) If Manny Pacquiao becomes Congressman of General Santos City... everybody
loves Manny the Boxing Champ but Manny the Lawmaker? Lets be realistic here,
Manny is our Hero alright but I think it takes more than just great boxing
skills and a desire to serve to be able to make appropriate laws that would
help uplift the lives of the many Filipinos who live in Poverty.

6.) If Lito Lapid wins for Mayor of Makati City... I don't like Jojo Binay as
well but Lito Lapid as city mayor of the country's finance and business
center?!?! And do you really think he is from Makati and has good plans for
the city? The Arroyos asking someone like him to run just goes to show you how
much love and concern this government has for our country.

7.) If Chavit Singson becomes a Senator, Illegal Gambling = Chavit... enough
said.
Now if all of these 7 things happen during this coming elections then don't be
surprised if I decide to leave this country that I love dearly. Like I said
during the first part of my letter, I feel that I have done much for this
country but I think its time that Filipinos become more vigilant and critical
in selecting our leaders for the sake of our future and the generations that
will go beyond us. So I appeal to every Filipino who asks what can I actually
do for my country... Choose and vote for the right people this coming
Let us choose leaders who have a good track
record for service and who are genuinely committed towards serving our country.

Thank you very much for your time in reading this letter.

Sincerely,
Harvey S. Keh

A Top 10 Fact Sheet on Love

Love
Love does not hurt. Physical and/or emotional abuse are not a part of love.
Love is not manipulative, it should not be used to get others to do what you want. You should never give in to demands based on the, "You would do it if you loved me!" tactic.
Love is an intense feeling of caring for another person. It can take many different forms (romantic, friendly, familial) but it is always about caring.
Although it is true that a big part of love is putting another person's happiness ahead of your own this never includes compromising your values or being untrue to yourself.
If somebody asks you to do something that you don't want to do in order to "prove" your love they do not love you the way you might think they do. When you love another person you don't ask them to sacrifice a part of themselves in the name of that love.
It is very easy to confuse lust for love. The true measure of romantic love is commitment and trust not physical attraction.
It is possible to feel romantic love for more than one person at a given time. Just think, if it is possible for you to love both of your parents at the same time why would it be impossible to feel romantic love for two people at once? Don't beat yourself up emotionally if you find yourself in this unhappy situation. But be sure to remain single and be open and honest with all parties about your feelings and confusion.
Sex is NOT love. Love is NOT sex. Sex can be a part of romantic love but it is never mandatory.
Romantic love can (and often does) fade. When it goes there is not always a reason. When somebody falls out of love with you it does not reflect upon your value as a person or your desirability.
Love should make you feel happy, secure and appreciated

Matthew 6:1-4 (NIV)

1 "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Surigao Del Norte - Surfing Capital Of The Philippines

Brief Description
Surigao del Norte is a group of islands at the rim of the Asian continental shelf. It is one of the four provinces of the newly created Caraga Region 13.

The province is blessed with long stretches of white sand beaches, enchanting rock formations, mysterious caves, and vast mangrove forests. The strong waves in Siargao Island has made the province the Surfing Capital of the Philippines.

Once a quiet and pristine place, Surigao del Norte’s rural charm now caught the fancy of local and foreign tourists who frequent the province’s numerous islands. Over the years, Surigao del Norte has indeed become a shangri-la for visitors from all over the world, especially for surfers and body boarders.

Geography
Surigao del Norte is located at the northeastern part of Mindanao between 125º15’ to 126º15’ east longitude and 9º18’ to 10º30’ north latitude. It is bounded on the north and east by the Pacific Ocean, on the south by the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur, and on the west by the Surigao Strait. It is one of the four provinces of the Caraga Region.

Political Subdivisions
The province is composed of 27 municipalities, one city, and 435 barangays, and it is politically divided into two congressional districts. District I comprises the islands of Dinagat, Siargao, and Bucas Grande, which has 16 municipalities. District II includes Surigao City, the provincial capital, and 11 mainland municipalities.

Population
Per NSO Survey, the province’s total population is 481,416 with an annual average growth rate of 1.71%. Population density is 175 persons per square kilometer.
spacer spacerLanguage/Dialect
Surigaonon, Cebuano, Boholano, Tagalog, and English are the major dialects and languages spoken in the province.

The province falls under the type II climate characterized by no pronounced dry season but with a very pronounced maximum period from November to January. It has a total annual rainfall of 3,949.43 mm. Temperature ranges from a low of 21.1ºC to a high of 35ºC in June.

Industries

1.Go to the website http://www.imageshack.us/

2.Browse the picture.

3.Click on 'host it'.

4.Several links will appear. Although you will see some links called 'Hotlink for forums' don't choose it, as VOY does not acknowledge this computer language. Scroll completely down where you see "direct link", THEN COPY IT!

5.THEN TYPE *img src="paste the link here"* IN THE POST. Ex: *img src="http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/5270/misslebanonjj1.jpg"* BUT INSTEAD OF PUTTING A "*" ON BOTH ENDS YOU SHOULD PUT AN OPENING "<" AND A CLOSING ">" AT THE END. I COULD NOT DO IT HERE AS THE PICTURE WILL APPEAR AUTOMATICALLY AND YOU WOULD NOT HAVE HAD SEEN THE COMPUTER LANGUAGE STUFF.

6.Put the complete thing in your post wherever you wish and your picture will appear.

Pouf I will never forget the first day hassle nightmare I got straining to post a simple pic...

Subject: Surigao Worst news of 2006: The Sinking of Leonida II: 15 missing, P1.6 M payroll lost at sea

SURIGAO CITY — The Samsonite bag containing P1.6 million in payroll money for the Del Carmen Municipal Government employees and 15 other passengers of the ill-fated mv Leonida II are still nowhere to be found a day after divers temporarily called off their search.
A bodyguard and aide of Del Carmen Mayor Arlencita Navarro named Rudy Celeste said the Samsonite bag that contained the payroll money was among the cargoes brought along by the late mayor last November 25.
Celeste said the payroll money was withdrawn from a Surigao City Bank last November 24. “Since there is no bank at Del Carmen, we usually withdrew or encash government check here in Surigao City,” Celeste explained.
There were no explanations so far as to why the Philippine Coast Guard service, search and rescue ship BRPS Romblon left Surigao City right after the body of Del Carmen Mayor Arlencita Navarro and two others were found by divers trapped inside the sunken ferry last December 2.
Relatives of the missing passengers wondered why the search was stopped after Navarro’s remains and two others were found right at the sunken ferry. Divers found the sunken mv Leonida II at the bottom of the sea off Punta Cili Point and Halian Islands about 316 feet deep.
