Below are 3 national costume ideas that I think would look smashing on Elham! 1. Hatshepsut Love the chin strap, the slicked back and volumized hair, the faux leopard fur, and the jewelled lotus flower motif on the gown. Winged scarab earrings and a scarab brooch complete the look. 2. Nefertiti Metallic Nefertiti hat and gold sequiened runway gown that explodes into huge bows at each elbow and waist. Totally over the top! 3. Couture Mummy White strips of silk wrapped to create a gown and then encased with black tulle that is accented with rhinetsones. I would even put some Egyptian amulets under the tulle! Chunky gold scarab earrings! We have has many past Miss Egypts dress as Egyptian queens but never a sexy mummy. This would be a first! Make-up All about the eyes. I hate how Miss Universe downplays the make-up during the national costume competetion. This part of the contest is all about whimsy so I say, make your eyes standout with khol eyeliner and blue or metallic gold eyeshadow that really pops! Fitted Gown If Elham wants to go for something more fitted then I would suggest something like this Andrew Gn gown: Whether the sleeves are kept or removed, I think metallic navy blue would look extremly dramatic on stage and the colour would also bring out the milkiness of Elham's complexion. This style of dress is unique in that it's not what one would call a pageant dress yet it has the wow factor. No matter what the stage looks like, this colour would sparkle. To add some sexiness, I'd even open up the back to show some skin. Last year, everyone loved Yara's blue Nicolas Jebran gown. I am not sure if Elham will wear a Nicolas Jebran gown this year, but if she does, here are the Nicolas Jebran dresses that I think would look great on her: 1) This design is similar to the dress Elham wore at Miss Earth 2005 but I love the turquoise colour and the shiny fabric. It's definitely a runway dress. 2) This gown reminds me of the one Penelope Cruz wore at the Academy Awards a few years back. Love the one-shoulder cut and the heavy feathered bottom. The skirt looks like it would move very well on stage. The colour would compliment Ehlam's lovely complexion. But I think red lipstick would be needed to make the overall look pop. Definitely a WOW dress! 3) This gold gown is a showstopper! Just get rid of the gloves and Elham will turn heads on stage! 4) This silver dress is completely metallic and reflective and I think it would look awesome on stage. It's very European and I think it would fit Elham like a glove. 5) I love the colours of this black and pink gown. It's very edgy and modern (it even has cut-out holes in the arms). Elham has a mysetrious quality about her look and I think she could pull this gown off amazingly! 6) This is a wedding dress and I know, it's huge. But I would love to see Elham work this haute couture ball gown. I think no one else would have a gown like this one. It's totally a princess dress. What do you all think? Although it is not the most creative design for a national costume, it has a nice silhouette and the colours really pop on stage and overall, I think it's very appealing. I know Hany El-Behairy designs were used on some Miss Egypts at Miss Universe in the past. Perhaps this could be a possible national costume for Miss Egypt in 2009? Thus, in 2005, he changed the rules by allowing a judging panel to select their highest scored Top 9 delegates from the preliminary competetion, while MUO selected their personal Top 6. These selected contestants would then compete in the semi-finals as the Top 15. However, did you ever wonder how MUO selected their favourite Top 6? Well, for years fans joked about how Trump would pick them himself. Unfortunately, this is totally correct. At the recently concluded Miss USA 2009 Pageant, some contestants complained about what they deemed as, "The Cattle Line-Up". This term was coined because the delegates were lined up on stage like cattle waiting to be slaughtered. Trump uses this opportunity to make his selection. However, this year, he made it clear that he was not looking for a pretty personality. He was looking for a pretty face! These were his own words. So, within a few seconds of shaking a delegate's hand and looking at her face, height, and body, he selects MUO's 6 contestants who will compete in the semi-finals. They already created the new Miss USA tiara, which is now in the possession of Miss North Carolina who won the pageant. UNITY Honestly, I think these 3 designs (and design names) are quite tacky. I prefer the Mikimoto crown to these as it is modern, clean, and simple yet stately.
