Just wanted to let everyone know there is a new piece in the Rant section of the site. Thought I would point that out to any interested parties. It concerns the Bush tax cuts, among other things. I was hoping to get some responses on this subject, to be posted here or, if you are so inclined, you can write a response to be posted on the site in the Rant section.

Hypocrite! You say you welcome good ol' fashion conversation or debatin', but most of those posts were debating, they were people making conversation and expressing how they felt. I will say though that I thought the most interesting part of your pretentious, self-absorbed site was that it was working and getting people involved. And then you got all hypersensitive and took everything so personally. You can't handle free speech. You have all your preconcieved notions of what that should be. You need to look into yourself. I suppose though that you will not like what I am saying and remove this from your site as well.

seriously. no, not really. but how rediculous is our whole election process? I have never understood the electoral college concept. why not just go by popular vote?

and i read the gun control bit. i think the gun locks are bad for home defense. "hold on honey, i'll shoot the burgler after i get this damn child-proof lock off"

Yo, can you repair my sloppy mistakes, like change the order of the responses because I wrote my last response on the wrong line; it was supposed to be AFTER the last comment by jibbi. No big deal if you can't. It just get's confusing. Sorry. MY BRAIN CAN'T HANDLE COMPLICATED FORUMS TODAY!!! Heh.

Welcome to the Paradigm Shifts forum!

This page has gone through some rapid changes in its short life. There was a rash of personal attacks on me recently. This acted as a wake-up call to me, making me more cautious of the Internet medium. I still regard the Internet as an amazing new means of human communication. But just like any other medium we have created, there are those that abuse the Web.

As a result of these recent attacks, I feel obliged to lay down some rules for this forum. In my opinion, just like there are chat room rules that determine whether someone gets booted off, there need to be rules for forums. I despise censorship, but some people go too far under the cloak of free speech. These people use the First Amendment as an excuse to post profanity, pornography, and personal attacks. That, to me, is an abuse of free speech and frankly immature. It is a slap in the face of the good old fashioned tradition of friendly debate and argumentation.

Therefore, I reserve the right to delete all posts that involve content that I deem innapropriate for this forum. I will not allow people to post personal information regarding another person. I will NEVER censor honest debate, heated though it may get. I will NEVER censor criticism of the site. But I WILL not tolerate people that are obviously trying to disrupt the forum, for the protection of the people that use the forum and for myself. Thanks to all of those who come here in the name of honest conversation. You don't know how much I appreciate it.

Anthony, i don't "hear" anything as i am reading. reading your words, that is. i imagine hearing things, i imagine the tone of your voice, i interperate the conjectured sound of your energy into a sphere i can relate to but maybe what i hear in my head is not how you sound in reality, therefore how are you breaking the chain of silence by typing away at your keyboard and throwing the lettered print in front of me? silence is silence as long as you are silent. if your voice cannot be heard in the literal sense than every word you write down is still soundless and will not be heard until you speak them--Outloud.
