Your case, and the one Fred presented, are both premeditated and therefore fall under a different guidelines for charges as far as I'm concerned.
In both cases, the threat of bodily harm was not present at the time, although one could argue forcing a woman to remain in prostitution comes close to that threshold.
At any rate, in both cases, the suspects did in fact act as sheriff, judge and jury, a practice I cannot condone.
In the Texas case, the father had every reason to believe his daughter was in a life threatening situation, and I support the decision not to charge him. The father, who by all accounts, is not a violent man, and took reasonable steps to call for help.
The long and short of it to me is if you or a family member, or someone else's little five year old girl for that matter, is "drugged off" and molested, you have to intervene. And by the nature of the assault itself, that intervention most likely will be violent.
I'm not looking to be the executioner, but the protection of our children overrides the rights of some creep!
