"Getting a child to learn is a team effort between parents, teachers and the student."

A thought provoking statement...... that being the case, does the average parent have the incentive...better yet the knowledge of the subject(s) let's say to help with homework, which in many cases is the downfall of the student.

Many a parent can be heard saying..."did you do your homework?" or "do your homework!" and all the student has to say is "Yeah" or "it's done" and if a parent were to check, would they know what they were looking at?

I've work with my grandson with his homework and most... I say most of the times I can help and when I say help I do not mean doing it for him. However, there were some times that I was totally lost. Now if the teacher had sent along an "aid" sheet I may have been able to do better.

I do agree totally, that there needs to be a parent involved with the child's education and the student must put his/her all into their education.
