I'm afraid it is you who don't see your contradiction. The Constitution grants equal rights to all. The institution of marriage, as you put it, is governed by the state and is not solely a religious function, as a justice of the peace can perform the ceremony without an religious backing.

It's personal because every citizen should have the right to make a choice who they marry, and the state should have no input. Individual freedom anyone?

You are being not "deprived" of anything. You can marry whoever you please. Raise a family in the pursuit of happiness. But because you have a personal beef with homosexuals, you feel it is your "right" to infringe on their individual freedoms and happiness.

Conservative wave the flag and pound their chest of personal freedom and the preach the Constitution with sickening regularity, unless the rights granted to others interfere with their personal views. Then they push the agenda in everyone's face and call for a vote on it. That's the hypocricy and contradiction.

In New Hamshire, they boast "live free or die," I suggest you mind your own business, do the same, and let others live THEIR lives as they see fit!
