Subject: House of fools

Where do you start with this one? The Republican led House puts forth a bill that increases military spending. In the day of Ryan, deficit hawk, they go back on a deal they agreed to, and with all the crying about the deficit, they propose a missile defense site on the east coast even though the military itself apposes it.

All this, so they can claim to the voters that they are "stronger" on the military than our President. The same President who caught bin Laden, ended the Irag war, and has done more than any other President in the "war" on terrorism.

Even Leon Panetta has urged Congress to adopt Obama's proposed budget.

The second to last paragraph is particularly disturbing. The House budget is a "reflection of the stranglehold the defense industry has on Congress." Weapons aircraft carriers, and jet fighters mean jobs back home." Just like the outdated jet engines Boehner wanted to continue building even though the military rejected them, and had no use for them.

Voters, this has nothing to do with the defense of our country, or being serious about deficit reduction. It has everything to do with votes of the foolish minded and padding the pockets of their private defense contractor buddies.

Ryan can't be viewed as serious about deficit reduction until he addresses waste in the military, and as Rep. Howard "Buck" (it figures) McKeon pointed out, the Democrats are all about "taking all the jobs out of the military." Hey Bucky, you conservatives are constantly railing against the size of the federal payroll, now you view the military as a job creator?

This whole move is just a political stunt, which Republicans accuse the Democrats of on a daily basis! If you feel you need to "get tough" on something, get tough on your private defense earmark buddies. The same group of cocktail friends whose companies charge the government $85.00 for a quarter inch steel bolt!
