The platform doesn't offend me at all. I'm glad that you are strong enough to talk about the issue of depression. I don't talk much about it unless I'm asked or if the issue comes up. Many people suffer from it and never get the treatment they need. By you focusing on educating people about depression and telling them your story, you will inevitably bring people closer to getting the help they need. The only thing that bothered me was the term "illness". My recommendation would be to use a different term...maybe dabilitating mental state of mind? It's a lot of words to sum up feeling like crap, but it sounds better than "illness". Just my opinion. Never the less, I'm sure whatever you decide to say will touch people, I'm just thinking of how some may react to the reference you use.
