I agree the directors had bad luck with two of the judges backing out at the last minute, and, of course they had no control over how hot it was in the auditorium, but I've never been to another pageant where so many girls were crying, both on and off stage. The majority of the little ones had no idea what to do, and there was so much waiting around for them. I don't know why all the contestants had to wait on stage while scores were being tallied and ties broken. I hope the directors won't do that again. Let them stay where it's a little cooler until it's actually time to announce winners.
Yes, "the judging blew many of us away." Have you checked out their updated website?
SELF INTRODUCTION~FUN FASHION WEAR MODELING ~ 30% of score
30 second time limit on self- introduction. Name, age, hometown,(Only ONE INTERESTING FACT ABOUT YOUSELF.)no exceptions! T- walk for modeling of Fun Fashion Wear, time limit 1min.
IMO, for 30% of the score, girls should be able to state more than one interesting fact about themselves. I know they are trying to keep the pageant from being long and drawn out, but they should try to shorten the tallying time instead of the self-introductions, especially since this counts for 30% of the score.
I hope this pageant continues because we do need more pageants in Maine, but I also hope they strive to get better.
