A little history on the pageants...
Both MISS NATIONAL TEEN-AGER and MISS NATIONAL PRE-TEEN were founded by the same person, SYBIL SCHAEFER. I met her before she passed away. I was a director for the Miss National Teen-Ager syster for many years. She began with the "TEEN-AGER" DIVISION (13-18 yrs) in the 70's There was only ONE AGE DIVISION back then! A few years later she introduced the "PRE-TEEN" division (8-12) when her grand-daughter became of pre-teen age.
Then about 10 years later she sold off the PRE-TEEN PORTION to the Wallins of Flodida and it became a pageant system of its own ...Although they were still considered SISTER PAGEANTS at the time :)
A few years later "TEEN-AGER" created two age divisions TEEN and JUNIOR TEEN. JUST this past year they introduced a PRE-TEEN division of its own.
Our official "NATIONAL PRE-TEEN" Pageant introduced a younger "PETITE" 4-8 Division in the early 90's. I personally have added TEEN and a MISS divisions to MY STATE Pageants and state Winners move on, with fees paid, to the MISS U.S. of AMERICA Pageant.
In conclusion, THEY ARE BOTH GREAT and REPUTABLE PAGEANT SYSTEMS with alot to offer :)
FYI... Sharon is a past MISS MAINE NATIONAL PRE-TEEN Queen in our system! I wish her luck with the TEEN-AGER PAGEANT :)
