As the other pageant mom said, For Beauty also sometimes called formal wear Your hair should show a little more dress to it.
So for formal wear I would curl it, rather you put it up with curls or leave it down would be up to you and how your daughter are comfortable with.
Generally speaking at most pageants, you would change your hair with each outfit. The hairstlyes do not have to be elaborate, but just giving the overall appearance a polished look
