I have a 5 year old daughter who would like to do pageants, and I have never been involved with pageants before. I was wondering, is an Easter type dress from one of the chain stores (Sears, TJMaxx, etc.) acceptable? Or is something a little more glam and sparkly advisable? Any suggestions or general advice to a new pageant mom would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

CORRIE MARIE DID MODELING LESSONS WITH 4 OR 5 OF THE GIRLS AT GOLDEN GIRLS. HER RATE WAS VERY REASONABLE & SHE DID A VERY GOOD JOB. THE GIRLS REALLY ENJOYED HER. SHE IS OFFERING LESSONS AT NES & I WOULD RECOMMEND HIGHLY SETTING A TIME WITH HER. SHE WORKED GREAT WITH THE YOUNGER GIRLS.

WE PLAN ON TRYING TO GET AS MANY AS WE CAN WITH HER THIS YEAR.

THANK YOU CORRIE MARIE & THANK YOU TO YOUR MOM FOR HOLDING SUCH A WONDERFUL PAGEANT! WE HAD AN AWESOME TIME & WILL NOT HESITATE NEXT YEAR TO BE THERE!

THANKS SO MUCH!

I just wanted to Congratulate each and every contestant today at Golden Girls. What an AWESOME bunch of young ladies and great support crowd!!
It was refreshing to see everyone playing together and having such a great time, after all that should be the most important thing about pageantry!!
Stephanie B, once again what a great job. All the special touches, awards and prizes. Once again it was an honor to be associated with your system!

Rebecca P. it was great to see you again and you did a great job emceeing, you knew how to keep the audience entertained :)
It was great to meet 2 of your queens, Maine should be proud of the classy representation we will have at nationals!
We hope to see many of you in June at NES pre-lims in Portland

I noticed at the NES site that it says tanning is okay--do the children actually tan for some pageants? I mean in a tanning bed or do they use the tanning lotion? I guess I just cant imagine putting my young daughter in a tanning bed! The lotion is probably okay I guess. Please tell me that its only the lotion........

Author:

Date Posted: 18:44:51 05/02/07 Wed

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007

Don't pump gas on MAY 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

Thanx's

I am willing to say I was one of the mothers who wanted pageants in Maine for my daughter. I want to Thank Stephanie Bernatchez for holding Miss Golden Girls this coming Saturday, and Tammy Rezendes for holding NES in June. Natalie will be at both of these pageants no matter how big or small they are. I know I am NOT the only mother of a contestant who wanted pageants, what happened to all of you? These 2 systems are very good, have you seen the awards or prize lists...worth all the money. Both look like a very good, laid back natural pageants without all of the stress. I hope to see you there! ~Sasha and Natalie Claverie

The hostesses, Ms Eastern Maine Darcy Newman and Teen Miss Eastern Maine Rebekah Cox are both sweet girls who will help out the contestants however they can. I'm sure it will be another great pageant! The optionals (talent and modeling) are in the afternoon, but winners aren't announced until the evening, when all the awards are presented. There has been much talk how people wanted quality pageants to come to Maine and natural pageants at that.
Maine pageant girls and their families who compete at the national level begged and pleaded to have Tammy bring her system to Maine for their new "back to basic" type pageant.
Now there is a good chance this will be the one and only time for them to come to Maine due to lack of interest?
Please do not let this happen!
Do not hold onto your applications and deposits any longer get them in today!
Let's show NES that we want a top caliber pageant in our state!
Maine is not going to become a state where quality systems want to come to if they are not supported

Please do not delay and get your entries in

What do some of you do to make sure you dont forget everything you need for pageants. I know each outfit has its own shoes & sometimes there are many outfits needed. Do you make a simple list? I seem to always forget something! Maybe I just dont preparet myself well enough ahead of time. It seems I forget the smallest thing--brush, curling iron etc...Anyone have any good ideas?

It really sounds like a wonderful pageant---who is planning here on going? I am hoping there are going to be enough for her to hold it. She comes from FL so it is quite the travel expense I imagine.
