If you compete at National level glitz pageants then they usually wear short dresses until at least age 10. The 10-12 is that in between age and it depends on the child, not all can carry a gown at that age and some are taller and can. At the National level for glitz most 11-12 wear short glitz dresses.....if you compete at Natural pageants or for example our new NES or Miss & Mr Elegance (only using them as examples as I am the director and know what we judge on) then it doesn't matter as we don't have an attire score. In that case it should be what looks best on her and what does she feel most comfortable wearing. At Elegance and the new NES we are recommending flower girl type dresses or prom style dresses.
