Did I just watch Miss Texas Teen or the hunger games? I can't even come up with 5 contenders out of 113 girls. I can settle with Harris County, but it's sad that theres no one to even compare her to. I feel like I just watched Miss Alaska Teen, my lord. Im hoping it was just a poor wifi connection...

Gretchen Polhemus has a daughter who was just crowned Miss Utah. She is beautiful and I believe a contender for the USA crown. So far I love TX, GA, and UT.

Here were my thoughts regarding upcoming teens. These were my stand outs this weekend.

Brenna - She has grown up a lot and is a stunner. Brenna has the personality to go along with the beauty which makes her a force. She's probably my front runner for this year. She interviews well and her stage performance is stellar. Her dress was my favorite of all the teens introducing themselves.

Mary Frances Nance - killer smile with a gorgeous face but I just feel like the look has been done.

Gina Campagna - an upcoming that no one is paying attention to and they should. She's a dark horse that could surprise everyone. I saw her last year when she competed and I knew when she started getting older that she would really stand out and I think that will happen this year.

Emily Lites - I cannot say how much I love her new look. This could totally change her game and to me she looks like a young Ali Nugent. I know some of the other girls competing better but I wouldn't be upset if Emily won. I'm not rooting for her because her baby brother died or her charity but because of her heart. She is a Cinderella story and I could see the whole audience in tears if she won. I could also see her take Teen USA too and America cheering for her.

Skylar Bantz - perfect hair, perfect makeup, and she just seems flawless. She will make the top 15 for sure. She seems like a very kind girl and we all know she has a great family.

Hannah Rickard - she is a natural beauty and I think she could be a future Miss Texas. I think she's a bit young this year but she will do well. I also loved her hairdo for the main event.

Anjuli Fink - my word this girl is gorgeous. She is Miss Universe material. She may look to aged for teen but she is amazing. She may win the whole thing in November just based on her looks.

Kirby - super cute girl full of life and a cute personality.

Stephanie Barber - Another one that I think could do very well. She has grown into her style and her looks are very polished now. With her height and her beauty I think she could hit the top 5 this year.

Those were the ones that stood out to me.

Kemah(winner): Always been top notch contestant. Had a feeling she'd do well. Although, didn't think she would've won this year, but more in the future. No one can deny her beauty & though wasn't my choice, she won on her own. Expect to see her make the cut at USA
Webb(1ru): Say what you want, lovers and haters, she was a great pick for the spot she got. Wasn't sure if she'd get as far like last year since I thought she was stronger then, but HEY?!- she was given 2 weeks notice and made 1ru in the hardest state. Takes skill. Sad she ages out. Could've been a force.
ToTX(2ru): Another one who earned her spot. Didn't think she'd win this year and maybe not next year, but winning TX is definitely in her future. Only problem is she kind of blended during prelims, but judges differed, so who knows?!
CSTX(3ru): wow! She always has the beauty of a Miss Universe contestant every time I see her on stage. I think it's hers to lose next year, or definitely will be in 5 again
Austin(4ru): young or old, was marvelous. Transitioned from teen to miss great, making t5 both consecutively. Tbh, I thought she could've followed Daniella as a young winner, but glad this wasn't her year since I feel she can go all the way in a few
Metro(t16): was one of my bubbles, didn't have her in due to competitiveness, but competed for a while so had a feeling she'd be there, but didn't have her going any farther though, ages out
SunC(t16): pleasant surprise! Didn't know too much about her, but loved her headshot. Had her in my t16 too but no farther, next year, maybe
Harris(t16): wth happened? Easily had her winning or getting 1ru again and this?! Placed too low. Hoping she returns, though I do think she needs to turn up the heat like last year to make it far again
LoneStar(t16): had a feeling she would make it for many great reasons, but was bummed she didn't move on. I predict good things if she continues to compete
NTX(t16): speaking of bummed, literally cried when she didn't make it to next level. It'd have been incredible if she'd have won after 10 yrs. TX passed up a great person all those yrs now, sad, ages out
DFW(t16): surprise! Was great to see a new addition to the top. Also a former TXOT. She can do well if competes again. Had a feeling about her too.
NLaredo(t16): a shocker. Didn't have her in my top but don't think it was deserving though pretty. I'd have put Allie Drake in this place
Jackson(t16): every time I see her own stage I smile, which is great. Wish she'd move to MAO though, feel she'd do great there
Bay(t16): tbh, still don't understand all the hype, cute, but doesn't "sell it" on stage. Could be a force in TX later on, but don't see it happening
Houston(t16): expected her to make the 5. Was her best year yet and couldn't crack it, sad. Feel if she would've been more at ease, then her place could've drastically changed, hope to see her again to compete for Kemah or in general
STX(t16): was amazing! For not having much experience, wow! SS winner out of 90+ women! I think she'll go far next year

Shockers who didn't make it:
•Allie Drake: moved into my 5 after prelims, was speechless she clapped, deserved to be in the finals, RETURN!! Will win soon!
•Stephanie Ludwig: photogenic winner but clapped. Though wasn't as shocked as Allie, felt she deserved to be up there

Subject: Special Thank You: On the night of swimsuit preview we found out that one of our girls was missing her swimsuit bottoms. It was :10 before it started and she called us. We asked Denise O'Brian if any of her girls had an extra pair of bottoms. She and her Moms started texting their kids and before you know it we had three. Thank you so much to Avery Greene and Stephanie Ludwig, who I think, competed and took off her bottoms to give to our girl. That is the spirit of sportsmanship that I love about pageants. We have some really incredible girls in Texas. I just wanted to say thank you!

Let's take a look at some FACTS...

The contestants on stage were obviously cleared and approved to compete! So this competition has rules and they are to follow these rules & guidelines, however, shouldn't there be the same expectations for everyone else involved? (Directors, Staff, Judge's, Sponsors, etc.)

Any ONE judge that has ANY type of affiliation with ANY contestant should NOT be allowed to remain on a judging panel. Whether the Directors are aware of this or not, a Judge should definitely fess up to the conflict prior to the event.

Prior to the Competition starting, all the judges are introduced with a brief bio---it's not a secret, right? Of course not! Providing "transparency" is most important! (Until the truth leaks out)

With only 5 scoring judges, any ONE judge can definitely manipulate the outcome. (Ever been in the Judge's seat?)

Interviews? This portion of the competition is NOT in the public eye...so let's say every contestant had a "great" interview, a judge can definitely play "favorites" to yet again manipulate the outcome. This is one area where a judge can make sure their top girl gets into at least theTop 15/16 to "get another shot at the big win"! (Because the competition starts over after the Top 15/16 girls that are chosen, right?)

Been in the audience? Here are some things you DON'T see on the "LIVE SHOW"...

Judges walking into the hotel, venue and onto the judges' panel greeting friends, sponsors, participants' make up artists, etc---clearly if you don't know the background, perception is reality...this doesn't look good for anyone. (Unless you announce this on the mic to everyone in sight)

All eyes on the Judges and Contestants...everyone in the room is watching your every move! Literally! So when you sit rather close to the Judge's panel and hear/see judges discussing a "tie" or "differences"...anyone who is smart and competitive will catch that! When a judge seems "upset" with the outcome and talking to another judge saying---"that wasn't my pick"... (Things that make you go hmmmm)

And the CARDS! who writes the results out?! Ever wonder if the judges' "pick their girl and the tabulator writes in another girl" (who knows- anything can happen, right)

TIE?! VERY Possible in ANY competition---BUT how is this tie broken?! "Pick your favorite"! This comes back- FULL CIRCLE....back to the Judge or Judges with the conflict! (Not just one...do your own research)

I don't know any of the contestants personally, just a supporter of the competition, but I heard Babara Falcon was arrested 2 years ago and was charged with a misdemeanor. Is it fair she can still actually compete? Does the MTXUSAO and MUO know about this? Just curious...

I used to compete in the USA system and am looking for someone to cut my long hair in the Austin area. I used to travel to Houston every 8 weeks to get my layers cut and do some extensions (Albert is a genius!). But, I have two babies now. Can someone help me find a new hairdresser? I'm feeling very unkept and shaggy. Thank you!!

Hi everyone.

I am so pleased that Kemah won, she was certainly one of my favorites. I wanted to comment on some fresh faces that really stood out. I loved El Paso, she had amazing stage presence. But I could tell that she was certainly a petite girl. Do you think height matters at Texas? DFW was great on stage as well, another favorite, along with North Texas. And I CANNOT BELIEVE that Samaria did not place this year, what happened?? Oh and I am so sure that all the crazy Ligia fans are freaking out that she did not place top 5. It's incredible that happened. I had placed Lonestar, Harris and Houston in the top 5.
