I am sure for varying reasons...they may have been able to get together the entry fee and headshot money however travel and tickets and all the other stuff really adds up. $8,ooo is a conservative amount spent for a typical family vacation at miss texas usa, including all the costs of your daughter competing. and that is on the cheap end.
