In reply to: dissapointed 's message, "after looking at pics from crystle's homecoming. i think miss houston looks abit frumpy. first of all i had to read her title to even know who it was wearing the banner. and second of all she just complete fades away when in a pic with other girls. i feel like this girl just got lucky at houston. being able to talk well isnt the only thing she will need to do well at texas usa" on 05/26/08 4:22:01am

[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Maybe she meant the Teen winner. She's there with Crystal at the homecoming. There is a photo of Elise at the Mrs. Houston and there is nothing "frumpy" at all about her. She is put together very well. She looks very classy.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: I really like her. Very Susie Castillo to me. But agree with the fading out in the group comment. The standout to me in this group is Cassidy. Maybe I'll even accuse myself of favoritism here but she really does stand out to me. Elise didn't pop out to me at Miss Houston initially but what's important is that she knows how to pop out in front of the judges. I have a feeling that's exactly what she's going to do at Texas USA.

I would prefer that our next Miss Texas USA be picture perfect and stage ready at all times but I also understand that sometimes you really do have to tone it down a bit and just be a girl sometimes. And it looks like she really enjoys being a bit goofy from the group pics, too! A great sense of humor is also a very important characteristic -- the ability to not be afraid to be yourself is something that I always promote. She is definately not afraid!

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Well what do you think she should do differently to be stage ready and picture perfect. The only thing that comes to my mind is lightening the hair. I think it is just too dark. I think she may do well with a brown shade with a few highlights like Crystle.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: No, I don't think lightening her hair would help. Many times dark hair like hers becomes brassy and dull. But with her olive skin tone, she needs to watch the shades of color that she uses. click in

Compare the picture posted of her to this one of Susie Castillo. They are very similar but the color that Susie wears is more rose... much more flattering to the olive tone that she has. The accessory that Susie chose to wear is bold and hip. The coral dress, although classic in style (one that I wear frequently because I am oh-so-Charlotte York!) looks almost too simple and in a way incomplete because of the lack of accessories to finish the look. Whether her hair is straight or curly, she looks fabulous but its the whole presentation that does the trick.
