In reply to: Can't wait 's message, "Hi All, coming over to Ottawa for NAT's and was wondering has anyone ever flown with Zoom. Can get a good price from London but just wondered if anyone had any feedback they could give me." on 11:27:15 14/04/07 Sat

My dad flew from Vanc to Gatwick 2 years ago with Zoom (good price) but it actually was Vancouver to ENGLAND and return; so he found out while he was there that his return flight would be from Manchester, or he could wait 2 weeks to fly from Gatwick! He was 77 at the time and he ended up having his cousin drive him part way, and then he had to take a bus the rest of the way to Manchester. Zoom stood by their "terms" and offered no assistance. We wrote a letter to Zoom trying to claim the bus fare (if memory serves, I think we were asking for maybe $40 CAD), but we didn't get anywhere. They were within their right, however, as the fare basis allowed them to have the return flight from one of 3 airports (Manchester & Gatwick being two - can't remember the other) -- but truly, you get what you pay for...though come to think of it, with Zoom he didn't exactly get what he paid for as he had paid an additional amount to have his luggage tagged to be offloaded first and it wasn't. And when he went to the airport in Manchester and mentioned to the Zoom agent what had happened with his luggage and his return flight, she rudely said "Well maybe someone's trying to tell you something"....

Anyway, he had flown with them previously and experienced no problems so perhaps that was just the "lemon" trip!
