Riyo, because she is lively and she truly makes everyone who is watching her see her inner beauty. I can see that Kurara is a crowd favourite and she does have the power over the crowd but I think Riyo shined more which is why Riyo won. Miyako doesn't impress. Best in Swimsuit... Riyo, because she has a great body and she presented herself very well, I still think 9.599 is an underated score lol. Kurara is also great but not as good, Miyako is just so-so, plus I think the swinsuit of that year is not good. Best in Evening Gown... Riyo, because I personally like her gown, it looks extremely nice on her and it looks very Japanese too I can't belive the judges only gave her 8.943. Kurara is also very impressive and again a close second. Miyako doesn't really shine in that dress-kini. And the Overall Impact... Riyo, not because she won but because she is truly great and would be my favourite even if she didn't get into top 15. I may be a bit biased because MU2007 is the first MU that I watched. I know more people like Kurara than Riyo from reading news everywhere and the poll is also proof because once I subtract my votes I can see Kurara is clearly in front of Riyo. The reason why I think Riyo is so great is because of her personality and her looks truly somehow appeals to me and I don't know how to explain why. Since you mentioned Jennifer Hawkins I think I should say that she appears on TV in Australia too much and is kind of over-exposed. It's interesting to note that MU 2007 is your first pageant hehehe, I would love to let you see my collections of Miss Universe Pageant vids which I just completed recently from 1997 to 2007!! and let's see if you'd change your opinions!! but I would still say that MIYAKO made a great impact with that gown-kini proof of the fact, there had been a number of copycats the following year at Miss Universe!!
