Subject: My Random Thoughts after the Pageant!

The hosts were just fine, Vanessa Minillo wasn't in her element imho compared to when she hosted Miss Teen USA 2004 but on the other hand Mario Lopez is such an eye candy, very cheerful and gorgeous! THE SEMI-FINALISTS: I'm so thrilled to see 10 out of my Top 15 girls in the actual semi-finals! I even screamed when Slovenia was called, gawd she was so stunning! she should have advanced to the top 10 to have a blonde rep and replace India but the latter had the face that was hard to ignore! Nicaragua was another pleasant surprise, I knew it after seeing her in the prelims that she'd make it! and the delight of the evening was the inclusion of 4 Asians in the Top 15, I shouted for joy when Korea was included as well! The biggest shocker of the night was the inclusion of Ukraine but she was great on swimsuit so I forgived her on that! Denmark and Czech Republic were postive surprises! I knew it that if Venezuela were to be called she'll go straight up to the Top 5! The African reps were oozing with sultriness especially Angola, she was on fire! Tanzania, BEautiful! I love her! Brazil wasn't in my list but she was fine! Overall the actual Top 10 was the best, 4 Latinas, 3 Asians, 2 Africans and 1 from North America! Truly diverse! (At least we won't cry for a latin domination anymore) SWIMSUIT COMPETITION OMG, this is one of the Best swimsuit competitions ever, I love the RBD group, their music was perfect for the segment! And I love the camera works on this round, reminds me of MU 2003 in Panama! My favorites here; KOREA, JAPAN, SLOVENIA, USA, VENEZUELA and ANGOLA! I think BRAZIL was overscored EVENING GOWN COMPETITION The worst music ever! Last year was miles miles better! If the swimsuit Competition was the best, the evening gown segment was a letdown! they should have opted for a more glamorous music!! SPECIAL AWARDS: This year has been so predictable about the special awards, First Philippines won the Photogenic award again for the 7th time! I'm happy for my girl although it was quite evident that she was hesitant to accept it! And CHINA was so charming, truly deserving of the Congeniality Award (We all knew it that she'd win this) And Oh, did they forget to announce the winner of the Best National Costume? or have I just missed it? CROWNING: First let me acknowledge how stunning Zuleyka was, she was on fire when she did her final walk, she looked like as if she could top the Evening gown competition! But anyway, The Top 5 was predictable since the scores were posted! At first I thought Brazil would win it all since she obtained high scores in both SS and EG competitions but I was relieved when she ended up 2nd! JAPAN did it again and this time up a notch (This scenario happened in 2005 and 2006 when Cynthia Olavarria ended 1st runner-up and Zuleyka winning it the following year! And now Japan did the same thing) I'm very happy with the results, I'm so stunned that FINALLY an Asian woman gets to keep the Miss Universe crown! I'm very fine with that! MAD MOMENTS: *When USA fell onstage and did a Miriam Quiambao stint, oh she was a class act! Poor Rachel she has to endure the pain! * The Booing Mexicanos, gawd!! They seriously have to learn the value of sportsmanship! Once again my heart goes for Rachel, I'm sure she was saddened by the incident! * The Exclusion of ITALY, SOUTH AFRICA and GREECE (she's Oleksandra Nikolayenko this year) * When Korea ended up 3rd runner-up only? huh? if there should be an Asian winner, it should have been her but I love Japan, she made me proud as an Asian!! Overall it has been a GREAT show! The country of Mexico is so beautiful, it has lots to offer but on the contrary it has the most notorious audience ever! I wonder what's happening outside the Auditorium now, SECURITY plss!! So this marks the end of the Miss Universe season, what a rollercoaster ride! still can't believe the booing Audience!
