• Royalty Divisions? -- Anonymous, 18:18:43 10/18/07 Thu [4]
  What is everyone's take on royalty divisions in a preliminary? Do you think they are a good idea or not? What would you expect or want if you decided to compete in a royalty division? Fees off entry to the state pageant or gifts/crowns? Obviously you would want a lower cost for the royalty if you aren't getting crowns/banners, but what seems fair for entry prices? Would you want to be able to compete in all categories, like a regular pageant, or just the mandatory categories for your division at state? I know that the royalty division is supposed to be extra practice for state but is this something that you would do???? I guess my question is basically is there enough interest in a royalty division in upcoming prelims to justify having one, wand what do YOU the pageant mom want to pay and receive?

  • No I dont like the idea of royalty divisons. I think it can get too confusing when you are a system that only allows the girls to win one prelim. I think it is just setting your system up for unessary drama. Keep it the way it is!   • It's the same Courtney Smith, her title 2 weeks ago was a pulled title, but wasn't a division or majestic title (which once you win, you may not compete for another title within the PONC system).   The Princess of Lumberton pageant originally scheduled for October 21st has been postponed indefinately. Ranessa's mother and Co-Director Chris Campbell has had to leave the State of NC for an indefinate period of time and Ranessa has decided to relinquish her Princess of Lumberton directorship due to this reason. She will however still be directing the Princess of Coastal Carolina and Cape Fear pageants. We would like to extend our love and support to both of these fine ladies and if you need us for anything please let us know. We wish Chris the very best and we hope she is able to return to us very soon.

  We've spoken with our directors. This year some of our preliminaries applications are already out and will not be changed. Usually, if there are any changes, it's done from the start of the state year. We hear concerns, and we do listen. Keep in mind that our decisions are based on what we feel best suits the needs of our contestants and their parents. All of us agree with what your concerns are so I'm posting our new age divisions and titles We hope that you will be pleased with the new age groups.

If a child is in a preliminary pageant that states ages 6-8 that 6 year old may turn age 7 before state anyway, and will compete in the 7-9 at state. There are several age divisions that we have not received contestants for at all. There are a minimum of 18 queens to crown and if we would get 45 contestants then we will crown 22 queens. • Princes of Hickory & Princess of Catawba County Double Header Preliminary is being held on September 22nd in Hickory, NC Applications have started coming in and this is first applications in last out in your group. We do have an early bird special with an extra incentive.   • That is true, we were blessed to have 5 queens crowned in the PONC State Pageant in 2005, two queens in 2006 and two more in 2007. We are very proud of all our queens as they have gone over the years and represented us very well. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the "Princess Family", as we have a minimum of 20 queens to be crowned with this preliminary.
