[> How do they decide which group dances first at O's? -- Large #s vs small #s, 04:36:01 11/12/09 Thu [1]

Naturally, as the mother of the dancer in the small group (boy, so will always be smaller), I think the smaller should go first so they can quit hanging around. I see my bias, so can you 'splain why they put them after? (NT) -- Thanks!, 03:15:13 11/10/09 Tue

* Because it is better to have a small group "wait around" for the larger group and not vice versa. Think of it this way, the larger group clears out and you get a good seat. If you went first there would still be tons of people taking up the front rows at 7am, milling around, etc. so you would have to share the space. This works out better for you in many ways. (NT) -- Mom of dd in large group, 06:47:56 11/10/09 Tue
o Hmmm. I disagree. The large group has to wait around, anyway, so 10-20 dancers more doesn't seem like it'd break the bank. For the 10-20 boys to wait around for 70+ is too much waiting. (NT) -- Need a better 'splan'tn! :), 04:31:59 11/12/09 Thu
* Makes tons of sense to me. I'm sure those big groups would appreciate even a little more time to get ready in the am. Reason might have a little to do with those girls who also have to do teams in the afternoon to give them time to change costumes, wigs etc if necessary. (NT) -- I too think the small groups should go first.,

[> I prefer the boys going last - then at least they can dance without all the girls coming in with their bags shuffling in seats, squealing when they see somebody they know..........etc etc -- I like the calm, 06:54:41 11/12/09 Thu [1]

[> It doens't really matter - personally, the small groups going first would not make that much of a difference (see inside) and going after actually gives the larger groups a little break between rounds, where it is needed more. -- Mom of 2 ds and 2 dd, 07:41:00 11/12/09 Thu [1]

Seriously, even 30-40 boys would only give the larger girls groups an extra 30 minutes at most - appreciated, yes, but the difference is also that the boys all have to be ready to go when the start because they move so quickly. The girls in the large groups, on the other hand, only have to be ready to go if they are in the 1st third, and the rest still have plenty of time to get ready.
