[> Both my boys started in ballet. One was taking ballet because he was a junior national level figure skater and my youngest just loves dance. Both did ballet and jazz before falling in love with Irish. -- Mom of 2 DSs, 22:44:27 07/25/09 Sat [1]

[> [> I am so sorry my ds didn't take ballet. I always thought that ID and ballet complimented each other. I now believe he would have really been outstanding and would have loved it. Unfortunately, he couldn't handle the stigma at the time. Now regrets it. -- good luck, 09:49:55 07/31/09 Fri [1]

[> ballet -- maureen, 07:23:36 09/18/09 Fri [1]

my ds has been dancing for 10 years; id, ballroom, hip hop, contemp, and he STILL won't do ballet. he's 15 so the dilemma is go to an all-girl class, where the students have been dancing since they were three and know all the steps (which he doesn't) or put him in an adult beginner class, which is more about exercise/movement, not serious training. we may go with private lessons.
