Subject: glad I found this board. My son's soft shoe slid off his heel in his LJ this weekend........

he was doing quite well when all of a sudden I could hear click click against the stage floor. We figured that he would tape his shoes next feis but I didn't think of elastics. We will try both. Are there many types of soft shoes? He is in a man's size 11 shoe now.

I never thought of elastics - what sort are they?
Do they just go round the foot once or round the foot and the ankle? Maybe teh 2nd one is too much like the way the girls wear them?

make them yourself or buy them at feis - about 3 or 4 dollars a pair. My son puts them around his ankle and then around the foot. You can't see them around the ankle because of the black socks (elastic should be black!). They get worn out quickly so you might be better buying the elastic at Walmart and making them yourself.
