There is very little difference between PW and the average prelim dancer. I'm sure he would be fine. If he loves to dance, then he would probably rather be doing it with a bunch of kids rather than alone, right? So why not let him dance prelim where he will make friends and always have friends to wait with and dance with rather than worry about if he's good enough? Let it be about making friends rather than the result! Some schools skip PW completely. As a mom of 2 boys, they were SO bored in PW and needed to move to stay happy. -- Real Men Irish Dance
