Subject: Two questions

1. Has anyone's son tried the Coors soft shoe with the strap? How did he like them? My son is intrigued by them but they cost around $30.00 more.
2. Do your kids big toe wear out a hole in his soft shoe super quick? Mine does and I wonder what might be a solution.

[> My answer to #2 is black duct tape. I put it on the bottom of the shoes from new and try to replace it once in a while. I am curious about the Corrs shoes too. -- WR mom of ds/dd, 08:17:05 10/11/08 Sat [1]

[> We have resorted to ELECTICAL TAPE! We just tape the shoes on his feet. And, it comes in differenct colors. So, that is sort of fun. -- soft shoe solution, 12:07:30 10/11/08 Sat [1]

[> My youngest DS tried them when they first came out. (more inside) -- mom of 2 DSs, 13:43:28 10/11/08 Sat [1]

He and his TCRG at the time loved the way they looked on. They have very nice lines. But he has very strongly developed feet. The Flexible arch support for him interferred with his point and caused him pain as it would jab right behind the ball of his foot. My older son tried them and said they were okay, he just liked his old shoes better. Both boys dance at the championship level.

[> Haven't tried the Coors. We use gaffer tape or duct tape at the toe - I just wish there was a way to reinforce the toe from the inside. My ds can go through a pair of soft shoes in 2 months. -- Ack., 06:12:41 10/12/08 Sun [1]

[> [> [> Not a bad idea, but the problem is always how to get the tape or moleskin INSIDE without it wrinklying or buckling. Toenails are always clipped way short (he learned that one on his own). Too bad they couldn't reinforce the shoe at the toe when it is made... -- If only I were a cobbler!, 10:41:58 10/13/08 Mon [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> Make sure it is small enough to just cover toe pokey-outey area so as not to cause irritation along sides, bottom or top of toes/ foot. -- Works great, no irritation here, but big toe is significantly longer than others., 05:17:04 10/16/08 Thu [1]

[> Bought a pair for my DS and if I could get him to break them in, I think he'd like them. He's just so used to the lighter, softer capezio jazz style. The Corr's are definitely made to wear better with padding on the inside and they look to offer good support. (more) -- - - -, 11:02:49 10/13/08 Mon [1]

I was hoping the strap would help them stay on the heel better. They are just SO different from the standard style. He may just outgrow them before he gets to use them much! He's young (only 10), so it's really a big difference for him and it's hard to get him to wear them now, maybe after Oireachtas we'll give it a shot.
