Gay World Events and the XOXO Foundation in partnership with the City of Cape Town, The President Hotel, Cape Town Tourism, Gerrit Prinsloo Productions, Collab Creatives, Alan Ford Productions, The Social Media Company and Mango Airlines are excited to announce the MR GAY WORLD™ 2019 is Mr Philippines, Janjep Carlos.
After a grueling week of interviews by the panel of judges, written tests, social media campaigns, pop culture, online voting, exercises, triathlon, soaking up the township of Khayelitsha and long evenings of rehearsals, the delegates had to tell it all.
Mr Eric Butter, President and Founder of MR GAY WORLD™ shares, “this is not a pageant but a leadership programme where we educate the delegates and the delegates educate us, its about enabling each other. It is about removing stigmas, its about diversity, breaking barriers, inclusion and sensitization. It is an opportunity for all 22 countries to share their projects and to network. Bringing the competition to South Africa was a no brainer because we were welcomed back for the 4th time to host Mr Gay World”.
Janjep Carlos is 41 years old, he is an athlete, traveler and a fitness enthusiast. He holds a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Cavite State University.
He is the vice president of a realty firm in the Philippines. He does real estate services such as hiring salesperson/realtor, he conduct sales and marketing to both Filipino and foreign investors in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America, specialising with high end property brands in prime locations across major cities in the Philippines.
His project is advocacy work in mental health, specifically spreading awareness about depression. He is currently partnering with Mental Health PH an organization that spread awareness and provide assistance thru social media since its very timely and relevant to my country specially to LGBTQ+ community.
