allowing someone to unload is one of the big kindnesses, and i guess, right or wrong, your mother has to unload sometimes.
Since my father died my mother has spoken as if it was soem great marriage they had. The first time she spoke that way was at a restaurant with my sister and I. Neither of us said anything, but she could tell from the way we were looking at each other that we were stunned and got a bit annoyed. Relationships are a minefield, especially your parents. I lived amongst their warzone of a marriage and never understood, but always felt a victim of their ongoing hostilities, then he dies and history is re-written. Humans are very strange.
