Subject: Exit Unicorns Chapter 19

Question for Cindy: If you could pick the most important thing you want your readers to experience or take away from your novel, what would it be?

Cindy's Answer:
I wanted people to understand 'why are they still fighting over there?' I wanted people to know there is nothing simple about Irish history and that gross injustices were taking place there even as little as ten years ago. I knew if I wanted this the readers were going to have to care about the characters, and so that was another aim to have characters that lived and breathed on the page. Fortunately they came along and did just that.

Chapter 19 - Lace Curtains

This chapter provides us with the history of why the "Boston Irish were a race unto themselves." We also meet Lovett Joseph Hagerty.

What was something historical you learned or found interesting in this chapter or in previous ones? What do you think Love Hagerty is all about?

Anything else you would like to add, please go ahead.
